The hook does not fit, it is loose keeps falling off.

If you have an older (8yrs) J.Morita apex locator, don't expect it fit, but may fit perfectly with a current model or other brands. It was very loose and I needed to use a small piece of electrical ,even Scotch tape, to hold it together while getting the job done. Its price point makes this a great alternative since its replacement was either more expensive ,or on backorder, since the start of the pandemic. As every dentist knows, this piece can be easily thrown away, so I find this as a viable "backup" in a sterilized pack in the back of your drawer for those stressful moments when it does go missing before your RCT procedure. Other than that, once it is taped securely into place, the measurements are very accurate, even for slightly occluded/calcified root canals.
