Sensor worked great. Cheap and effective, with a built-in resistor. A built-in LED turns on when the sensor is in close proximity to a magnet.Wiring for arduino should be done as follows (see picture): -Negative (left): ground -Center: 5v -Right (S): input pin.The sensor should be coded as '1' when no magnet is present and '0' when the magnet is in close proximity.

I got these for learning about hall effect feedback motor control, and these work very nicely for that. Each module arrives in it's own ESD protection bag, completely sealed. They are all in good working order and will be very useful for various projects.

I already had code written for these to operate with my Uno R3 and Mega2560 setups. These were a great replacement for 3 separate projects. I placed a rare earth magnet on a harmonic balancer of an engine, one on a VAWT blade and one glued to a CDrom just to observe high speeds. These worked for all I need, plus many things I wouldn't. So I would recommend these for several uses.

Simple, straightforward connection on 3.3 or 5v. No need to do sensitive low temperature soldering on this package which isn't very tolerant of bad technique. This package provides easy mounting using holes on the PCB and sturdy pins for a cable or breadboard. The power indicator is useful for diagnosing cable faults and determining its activation status (finding a software fault). They say sensor but it's more like a switch. With the temperature regulation built in, and an operating range up to 150C this is a great choice in devices which may experience wide environment changes but need repeatable measurements. Since it has a threshold for trigger, like a switch, you'll need to adjust its proximity to the field you want to sense to get the trigger point where you need it, and that's why the mounting holes on the board are handy, consider using slots for those bolts so you can fine tune the position.
