These seem to work okay but require effort to position properly. The hinge is located too close to the screw hole below and makes getting a screwdriver bit in place to drive a screw much more difficult than it should. Easy to scrub the finish off doing that also. Not a smart design. Give us a break and make the base a half inch longer.

only thing I had an issue with was there were no screws supplied with the latches.

I bought these to fasten the cover to a hot tub. Installation was not that easy though, but size-wise they were perfect. The screw hole under the bolt is difficult to access and you'll need to adjust the bolt's length by unscrewing it. They need some type of locking mechanism as they were prone to open right away. They may work on a perfect plane, however, they are still much too easy for the lift to come loose. Plus, at least for me, it was not quite so easy to separate the two once unhinged. I'd recommend avoiding these and look for something that locks when clamped.
