The concept of this Roti Maker is great and it works great for making various items - Khakhara (crisp rotis), rotis, etc.Only reason to give a 3 star rating is because last one died (heating element failed) after a little more than 3 years. This is our 2nd purchase of the same product. I am hoping that this one will last way longer than 3 years.

I use this press to press out and pre cook my tortillas. I finish cooking them on a cast iron pan. I think a lot of negative reviews about this press are because of people using it wrong. I make my dough and roll the dough balls. The dough is use is very soft. It’s somewhat sticking to the mixing bowl and slightly sticky to my fingers. Very soft gentle dough. I let the balls rest for 20 minutes in a covered and greased pan. Then place them one after the other on the preheated medium temperature press and gently press the balls till I hear a squeal. Take them off immediately and put aside to finish on the hot pans later. I use the press handle very gently and because the dough balls are very soft, not much pressure is needed at all. The press makes wonderful tortillas. It saves me so much time from having to hand roll each tortilla. I would totally recommend. Only con indeed is that the handle does feel very light. Just like some other reviews have mentioned, But when the dough is soft and well rested I don’t see it as a problem and expect it to last a long time. The handle is almost only needed to hold the press down. Yes, greatly recommend

The video makes it look like this is just wonderful, but it is not. It will not even flatten the dough it just pushes it out the front. Don’t waste your money.

Highly recommend not to buy this one. One from Brentwood is cheaper and way better. The equipment stopped working in 30 days of purchase. Kept contacting Amazon customer service. They asked to contact the manufacturing company. The company refused to help in anyway despite the claim of 40-day money back guarantee on Amazon site. On top, I got an invoice of around $60 from fedex as excise duty charges as its shipped from US. I didn’t pay the amount. I got an email from third party collection party. When I firmly contacted Amazon regarding this as this is a hidden charge, it was finally waived off

We've purchased this roti maker 3 times over the last 2 years. Our first one lasted about a year with once a week use and then stopped working. We opened it up and saw a burnt out connection. We fixed it ourselves, but after a month, another burnt out connection. The quality of internal wiring was so bad, that the wire would crumble when you try to hook it to the connection. We gave up and bought a new one last year. Our second unit stopped working after 2 weeks. We opened it up and found that the thermostat was broken - it would shut off at very low temperatures. We missed the return date hoping to fix it, so it's just sitting now. Bought another one thinking that our 2nd unit must be a bad apple. But, once again, after 2 weeks, our 3rd unit is not working anymore. Frustrated with this JUNK.

El producto logra su función, sin embargo la palanca que hace presión es extremadamente débil. Debes poner un poco de spray en aerosol para que pueda ayudarte a hacer bien las tortillas.

My previous review got deleted, so here is another as long as it can lastHeats up pretty well, but smoke & plastic smell scares me though. Chapatis are very chewy/rubbery, and break a lot, I dont know what I am doing wrong, It had worked for many people so I am sure Its not the machine, I just need more practice I guess.4 stars cuz there is so much room for improvement, parts move.4 stars cuz it cooks the dough for me, & saves lot of my time. I am a student, and dont get much time for cooking, and I dont care much for the quality of the chapati, as long as the dough is cooked. Overall I recommend itJan 2021 Update: brought it in March 2020, rarely used it (used about 5lb atta) now it doesn't flatten the dough anymore, I have to press it multiple times to flatten it a little bit, by the time the dough is flat enough to call it a roti the roti is half cooked, then the end product ends up chewy and doesn't fluff.. roti are not at all soft. I was expecting it to not last for a long time anyway, lasted as expected about 6 months cuz I rarely used it and handled it with care. not worth for the price I paid. My previous review got deleted, so here is another as long as it can lastEdit 2: it stopped heating about 4 months ago, it doesn't flatten the dough, and doesn't even warm up so that I can atleast use it to warm my chapatis before eating. So, it's dead after light use for about 1 year

This is the only Roti Maker that actually makes Roti/Chapati. We have tried other Tortilla makers, but this one is the best of all. It has the max temperature setting that is required for Indian chapatis/rotis to oil. This Roti Maker produces enough heat so that the Rotis are cooked with perfection. It has a non-stick surface, which makes cleaning after use very easy. You just need to dust off with a dry soft cloth and it is down. The most important point to make soft chapatis/rotis is the dough should soft enough and better if freshly made. You have to ensure that the Roti Maker is at full max heat. If you take the flour out of the fridge then let it sit out for about 15-20 mins and then put some dry flour on the dough before putting in Roti Maker. Once the green light goes on at max, put the rolled up dough and press a down firmly (not very hard) a couple of times and you will hear a searing sound. This means the dough is completely pressed flat. Turn a couple of times and then put the top down. The Roti will come out cripsy and full. If it is freshly made dough then the Roti will come out perfect.Overall, a great roti maker and saves lot of time rolling out the rotis/chapatis and no mess of the flour in the kitchen.

Update: I was able to get in touch with the company and they were very help and willing to send me a replacement! I did love the roti on this roti maker and my family got used to it! It save so much time and so much less effort compare to traditional roti method! Can't wait for my replacement to come so I can Start making roti again! I would highly recommend it and it's my to go roti maker!InitiaI review: will not recommend it at all! I bought this roti maker and when it arrived it was broken! Eventhough its stainless steel body but very fragile!I ended up requesting a replacement! Reviews were not so great but I wanted to give it a chance! I bought it on Feb 10 and on April 16 it stopped working! Its literally two months! And company policy is that they will not refund if it's over two months! So I missed the deadline by 6days! It really makes me wonder why only two months and it very disappointing that you spent so much money and it last only two months!
