These 1000 ml graduated borosilicate glass containers are not the best looking ones on the shelf - but they work just as well as the "pretty" ones.Pros: good price, secure lid fit, fits in hand well for a large vessel.Cons: not marked as borosilicate glass, lower weight (thinner glass), graduated only to 900 ml (even if they all do this, I am not a fan).Specs: primary OD ~100 mm, total height ~230 mm, bottle throat ID ~29.5 mm, mass ~508 g (empty w/ cap).

Looks like a good quality bottle. I had two sterilization cycles successfully and on the third one it broke and the agar solution got everywhere and made a huge mess. The cap was very lose with aluminum foil covering the top.

I use a net pot for my sinuses. I always boil the water for five minutes, put in the salt, and then wait for it to cool enough to use. Often I don't get around to using it and throw it away. Now I make enough in advance to put in one of these bottles. I keep it in the fridge and use it every night. That has three advantages. 1) I don't have to make the solution each time I need it, and 2) I quickly figured out how many seconds (30) to put it in my microwave to get the correct temp, and 3) I only use 1/2 cup each time as I never used up a full cup anyway. Now I use my net pot more frequently.

I used these bottles for mycology work. Work great in steam bath or Pressure Canner/cooker/autoclave use. Bottles have a drip resistant ring on inside of the GL45 top. 1L Bottles have convex bottom and will require a 1.5" or longer stir bar in bottom if to be used on stir plate to mix.

I purchased these for agar work for my lab. I made up my agar by boiling on the stove and dumping into the jar hot. I put the lid on and shook the jar. This was immediately followed by an explosion. The jar burst immediately upon shaking. I have not any problems since with the remaining jar, just do not shake them while they are hot. Do not seal these either when you autoclave them. Will purchase again!
