These pins go directly into concrete. Angle bracket has a dome around the pin entrance. This dome collapses when the nail goes in. This is done to prevent the brace from turning around the nail. The other side of the bracket has a decent size hole, ~¼”. These brackets can be used for vertical beam side support when attached to the floor. They also have enough strength to support pipes, electric conduits and even small air ducts when attached to walls or ceilings. Pins fit into the muzzle of my powder actuated fastener with no issues. The distance between the pin and the vertical part of the bracket is enough to clear the muzzle wall.

I've not seen a set up with an angle bracket included. Sure adding addition parts to the plug and fastener is not difficult but it is nice to had it all done and ready to use.
