These just keep breaking when I try to make a loop and turn the tag end around the standing end. Just snaps off. Not sure what these are actually for but they don’t work for the lures I am trying to make.

Wires are all consistent 3" and 6". They are stiff. They bend and twist without breaking and hold the bend. I can form an eyelet with a needle nose pliers and with another pliers, do the wrap making a good looking wrap. They are strong and will last.

I ordered these twice in two sizes, .027" and .031". The difference in gauge is night and day compared to your expectations; the .027" is only fit for weight droppers or similar rigs that won't actually have to fight a fish. .031" is enough to make lures for fish up to maybe 6 or 8 pounds depending on species, I wouldn't go crafting muskie lures but they ought to hold up to a big walleye or jack pike. The 6" length is inconvenient for assembling lures, but you get 2 lures out of each shaft if you're smart about trimming and twisting eyelets.

I bought these to start making my own jigs for icefishing and they worked great. I've been making jigs with a double hook and they keep the tail hook were it should be at the tail end of the jig. I'm looking forward to next year's season.

Awesome! Work great for spinners, hold up easy 1/4 ounce weight, have bought many times. I highly recommend, kids love them, lots of fishing, lots of spinners, these are awesome!
