I had planned on getting a drum of hydraulic fluid for a project that's currently on hold. These looked like a reasonable thing to lay in before I took that step. Just to test these out, I drizzled a bit of old hydraulic fluid on one to see what happened. I'd say they keep the oil from spreading too far. Where the drip lands is where it stays. You can squeeze the oil out after the fact, so it's not totally locked in place either. I guess these are for those workshops that are expected to sparkle? I aspire to that, so I'll use them, but keep that clay stuff close by for more substantial spills.

No more oil puddles on top of the drums. Super absorbent. Fit the 50 gal lid perfectly. Soaks up a ton of oil.

Great for keeping the DIY garage neat. Can be used for oil drum tops, or any other oil application. Very absorbent and with a good heft.

We have a few drums of motor oil and hydraulic oil in the shop. We also have a dedicated barrel for used motor oil. These help keep the tops tidy and not an oily/ dust mess. The form and function of the pads are perfect for our shop.

I like that they are designed to absorb leaks and drips from pumps or spouts on drums, keeping the work area clean and preventing slips and falls. They will also absorb leaks and drips, preventing them from reaching the floor, and reduce the risk of slips and falls caused by oil spills. I find them easy to install and replace, and they can absorb a variety of oils and other liquids. However they can only absorb a certain amount of liquid before needing to be replaced.

If you've ever used a similar oil absorbent pad, these are about a third or half of the thickness as a normal square pad.Very absorbent, but even a thin layer of oil overwhelms the edges since the edges are usually a bit deeper.It doesn't cover the entire top of the 55 gallon drums we have, there is like a half inch gap around the edge of the drum.These are a fantastic idea though, because as much as well all try to keep spills to a minimum, they do happen, and overflows sometime happens too.it would be 5 stars if they fit better and were about twice as thick.
