Interesting the shims for this valve set. I've never used before, so will be interesting as didn't need yet. Seems to work good so far, though have a whole set to go through as needed and I don't do HVAC for a living. Though these bullet piercing valves are a God send in regards to being able to self service, if you have all the equipment and can safely and validly, the range of HVAC related refrigerant containing equipment. I've only done R134a so far and would need to have discharged somewhere or with someone with a tank or barrow a tank to do others as well as have the correct fittings-gear. Seems good though, just watch your seals and take your time if can't open the valve too much.

These fittings are awesome. Most small appliances like window AC, refrigerators, or dehumidifier do not have fittings for checking refrigerant and pressures. Many of these appliances run for years while they leak a tiny amount of refrigerant over the years, then finally don't work as they should. These fittings allow you to connect gauges and add refrigerant to restore them back to working order. Just do not add refrigerant to units that have fast leaks - it's a waste of time, refrigerant, money and isn't environmentally friendly.
