A hole for a screw is right behind the vertical leg. Six (6) out of ten (10) brackets are in this condition. Outrigger is short and 1-1/2" clear distance can't be achieved with 1-5/8"-O.D. and larger rail unless modified.

Our destructive teenage boys had managed to break our previous handrail brackets by sliding down the staircase on the handrails. These are a great quality and seem to be quite durable. My wife likes the way they look which is a win. They were easy to install. Recommend.

Grabbed these because I was tired of the typical looking brackets. These are everything they should be. Nice and heavy duty, easy to mount and best is the matte black finish that everyone wants right now. I’m going to have a hard time using anything but these now. I really love the way they look
