After 3.5 years our Pentair died. $1200 for a pool light is ridiculously expensive. Giving this light a shot and so far so good. Quarter of the cost of a Pentair and it was worth every penny. The Bluetooth app works decent. The light is brighter than our Pentair was. Like with our Pentair, reds, orange and yellows aren’t very bright, but I expected that.I have some basic knowledge concerning electrical, and it took about an hour to install. Most of the time was running the electrical for the control box.

The lights are okay. I was looking for Pentair replacements that take an Edison socket bulb but couldn't find one at all with a 100' cord. It seems everyone is only selling permanent LED light heads and the Pentair version is well over $1000, I need 2 lights.I settled on these because of the reviews and the dedicated controller box, other lights that had remote controls were all poorly rated, because of the remote.The install was not problem free, most of my troubles were pulling the wire through 75' of conduit. We first tied using the existing wire as the pull wire, but got stuck within 5' of the power box and came apart, this happened for both lights. Pushed a snake in and same thing while pulling that out. We ended up having to remove the #6 copper ground wire and pull them both at the same time, with the excess pool light cord going first. I'd be nice if there was some string inside the pool light cord, it would be easier on the wire when pulling. The lights don't fit perfectly in my existing Pentair housing, the bottom clip won't engage, it may have to do with the pebble and not entirely the housing. One of my kids is going to 3d print a new clip that'll work better.I opted to put the controller boxes inside my basement to keep them out of the elements, so I had to run power inside and also the low voltage pool light cables.The quality of the light is just okay, the white light is very blue and you can see a rainbow like effect on the pool bottom. The other colors are okay. There is a lot of light that exists the top of the fixtures, if the lights face your decking, you may not like them.In the end, the price was right. I can buy 3 of these for the price of one Pentair LED, in all honesty, I would have spent the money on the Pentair if it had better reviews, the high end product doesn't seem to last as long as the cheap knockoff.It does come with instructions, you don't need them, but they are worth reading for a good laugh, the English and random punctuation will give you a chuckle.The app is hot garbage and I knew it would be. I really haven't messed with it long enough to get it to work. (Updated app review below)Edit:I took the time to setup the app and it's actually okay. What I like best about it is it allows controlling both controls at the same time, so any visual effects are reflected on both lights. It doesn't have the best UX, but technically, it's good.

This LED, slim super easy to install light is about 2-3 times more affordable than other pool lights in this category. Installation was a breeze as long as you are patient while pulling the slim cable through the original pool light tunnel. It took my uncle and I 4 hours to install but only because we broke the slim cable that was attached to the old light the first time. We had to get a fishing wire to attach to the new slim LED pool light cable. It would have taken us under 3 hours (for two lights) if we didn't make that mistake.Pros- Brightness is very good for the priceEasy installation and you can control two lights with one control/transformerComes with it's own 12v transformer and manual controlAbility to control it via smartphone, bluetooth applicationThe cost is a big positive. You will not find a better light or easier installation for that price. I was able to save close to $1200 as I installed the spa light as well (if I had installed two regular brand name lights with fixtures). I've had the lights installed for almost 3 weeks now.Cons- The only con I see is that it's not wifi controllable through the application. However, that's not a big deal as you can control the colors and modes via bluetooth. The range is about 20-30 feet bluetooth range from controller to smart phone. However, within range, it's very reliable to control. Be patient and follow instructions. You might be S.O.L. if you have Android though as there are mixed reviews with Android. IOS works very well.

really easy to install i had to pass the cable from the pool to my shedlight is really beautiful except the red illuminates no more the 10 feet my pool is 25 feet longstill give it a 5 star for the other colors

I love this light! I’ve been dealing with an older installed housing that was leaking and decided to swap out the entire thing with this light, and I’m glad I found this one.Super easy to install, the new 12v cord is way smaller than the original 110v cord, so I just attached the thin new cord to the old cord and pulled it through.The light is spread out way better than before. It really lights up all areas of the pool.The colors are nice and bright, and you can set your own custom program through the app. The app is kind of funky, it’s not perfect, but it gets the job done.I love that the light itself is 12v and the control module is 110v. Nice and safe and the 110v section is safe and dry on land and there’s only 12v going into the pool.The LED pool section has no seal to wear out and replace it’s just a waterproof plastic or acrylic unit.I also like that the control module and light are separate, if I ever have to replace the light part, I can just order that part for 33% less.Also the price, waaaaaay cheaper than the name brand stuff, like not even close in price and this seems like a rewlly good quality product, 6 months now with no issues.Once my Spa light finally fails, I’ll be replacing it with the ‘Poolexa’ as well.Tips on accessories for the install:I also bought a spool of kevlar string to connect to the old cable in case the new cable disconnected from the old cable as I pulled it through, luckily I didn’t have an issue.I bought a 11.4"×7.5"×5.5" wall mount weatherproof irrigation box to mount the control box in as other reviewers recommended protecting it and that size worked great, I did have to trim a small bit inside the box to make it fit, so go slightly longer if you don’t want to trim the inside, but I’d personally buy the same size again and just trim it.
