I'm no expert but, I put about 130 turns of 14awg magnet wire on this toroid and got about 185mH. Very pleased.

I would give them zero if I could.I ordered FOUR of these toroids two weeks ago - the order never arrived.I reordered FOUR - and received only TWO.I wound a core with 10 turns of 0.5 mm dia wire and the permeability = 100 !!!!!!!!

Some surface pitting. Relatively high relative permeability (3.7 uH/N^2). I wish the seller published this number so I didn't have to buy one to see that I'm not going to be able to use it. According to my calculation saturation occurs at about 40 amp-turns which makes it useless for high power switching power supplies.

Petits projet que je veux faire, construire un power supply 12 volt c.c. avec régulateur, condensateurs électrolytique et plein d'autres composantes électronique (ça me fait passer le temps), P.S. je suis technicien en électronique !

Edit 2/22: I found some data on this ferrite and added it to this review. See attached pictures.I’m using this to experiment with a common mode choke on an antenna feed line at a receiver. 15 turns of RG 174 works well, all the way down to the bottom of the AM broadcast band. In this application there is no concern about core losses due to eddy currents. In fact, if this ferrite is lossy, it’s probably beneficial for this use. I would not wind any other transformer without first running some tests like the other guy mentioned, especially if you intend to transmit.

This is a well-made product clearly intended for use in a gigantic switch mode power supply. I use it as an RFI choke and balun core for amateur radio HF use. I have not found any issues with quality or saturation up to 2 kilowatts and beyond.the only thing that could make this better would be some technical documentation that tells you what frequency range these cores are appropriate for. In order to check that for your applicationIn order to check that for your application I would suggest making a 10 turn primary and a second term primary transformer wound on the core in bifeller arrangement. Connect a secondary to a dummy load and the primary to your signal generator. the frequency ranges that you see good power transfer and low SWR are the frequency ranges this is appropriate for as a balun. The frequency ranges that it's not appropriate for are the ones you want to use it as an RFI choke. As I gather more data I will update this review.
