I have used this mold test several times now.TL;DR: It is easy, relatively inexpensive and works well! FIVE STARS for a performance AND customer service... Do read their website mold test and removal articles and other reports as well.NOTE/FYI - There is a LOT of MOLD testing and remediation information, where much can be contradictory or misleading. These are my takeaways.SUMMARY:1--- Mold tests complement an initial physical inspection (e.g., visual and moisture assessment (btw a good tool is under $100) - Not as one mold indication silver bullet. AKA, find and fix the source of mold first (water / high humidity), then remediate what is needed (remove drywall, clean / disinfect beams, etc) – research what MUST be done, it’s not necessarily getting rid of everything…2 ---Mold test kits can then help identify the type, etc of mold / mycotoxins - show the rough levels, toxicity therein. (With this test, which starts with an outside / external sample, I look for outdoor mold types to be shown as part of indoor results too, knowing a small level should show up, and validate the sampling there).BTW – There is some mold present in most homes and there is almost always some outside too. Thus, you cannot get rid of mold 100%, you just need it at a level below the threshold that your body can easily get rid of it – that’s what a mold test should tell you -- again do your research.3 ---Airborne test versions assess that transport perspective, which after all is what we want to know most (breathing it). How do they compare? Pretty well, where they all have limitations. How to tell - Google it - this is one example report… “FAQ response from the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), regarding spore trap sampling and direct microscopic examination (Lab Analysis)”---BTW – “ERMI” tests – I researched that test approach too, as it comes up as another type of mold test and laboratory analysis. For me there were too many caveats and potential concerns. Usually more expensive too, so an air test works for many folks – at least initially). Do your own research on the various types of tests – which is always prudent.
