I've never used brushes before so I can't really fairly compare, but I'm impressed with how easily they slide out, how they feel, and that they come with their own bag. I'm no expert, but these brushes look pretty similar to others I've seen but these are far less expensive than many. One of the wires did come out, which is a bit annoying when it's so thin, but other than that, no complaints so far!

I have been drumming for 35 years and have a degree in jazz studies. I have used my fair share of brushes. These are just cheap. They are way too soft to provide any definition. The wires seem to be OK enough quality but the construction leaves a bit to be desired. They are also inconsistent. One brush is much stiffer than the other. The handles are a bit s.all for liking but that is just personal preference.

Disclaimer: drums are not my primary instrument, but I do have a kit in my studio and occasionally do overdubs with it. Likewise, I don't often use brushes, but I tried these out today and found them to be a step up from the old pair I had, which are probably 20 years old or more. They seem well balanced and sound decent, though they're clearly not "top of the line" brushes. For the money, though, you can't go wrong here, especially if you're only an occasional drummer/percussionist like me.

These drum brushes are incredible for playing jazzy rudiments on acoustic drums. The brushes are an excellent value at under $7 and are high quality retractable design to protect the brush when not in use. These brushes sound so cool on any snare. Highly recommend this product for any drummer!

I'm sure there are fancier brushes out there, but as a band teacher, this is an area I'm willing to save a few bucks, especially if the sound is similar (my ears don't care what label is on the brush!). So far, they extend and retract smoothly, and I like the velvet storage bag as it makes them less tempting for my fidgety percussionists. One small improvement--the brush does extend just a tiny bit past the edge of the tube when they're retracted. Not enough to be a huge problem, but they could catch. There also is a fair amount of oil on these, so I would wipe them down before using them on a good drumhead. I assume that oil is from manufacturing or to keep them from rusting in warehouse/transit, and not a big deal.

These Ahviesli drum brushes came nicely packaged with a velvet stick bag included. The brushes themselves are simple but well made. The handles have a nice soft matte feel to them and a good weight similar to drum sticks. The brushes glide easily in and out when retracting or expanding, and the wires of the brushes are all even and straight. There's a nice pleasant acoustic sound from these wires, whether I was playing on my snare or on a random surface. Although I've been playing drums for a couple decades now, I'm primarily a stick player (5A), and my last old pair of brushes were very lightweight (and overall just terrible), so the Ahviesli pair have admittedly had an easy job impressing me in comparison.
