Barrel is fine, however spigot is poorly designed and doesn’t fully shut off so we had unexpected loss of product. Very disappointing.

I filled the barrel with water for about 2 days and left it in the sink. No leaks in the barrel itself, but the nipple leaks contant dripping. Initally I put a shot glass under it so I had an evening shooter, but don't want to lose my bourbon which is the whole point of aging in a barrel.So I drove my plug into the bunghole with a soft mallet, and stood it up on it's end, nipple up. No leaks now.

I have a few barrels from this seller. Both the 5 liters sealed well, including this one. I like the look of the unfinished wood and rings, but I wanted to try a ReCoop version, and those all seem to be varnished. I'm going to be aging the same whisky in this barrel and the unfinished version at the same time to see if there is any difference.

We followed the directions to the T and it still leaks. My husband had stood it up and it still leaks now we must try and stand it upright because he’s trying to save what he’s been aging inside. I really wish this would’ve been a good product because we put a really important recipe inside and now it could be wasted. Can’t return it because we ran out time . My husband thought it needed more swelling time but it was hopeful thinking

I received this barrel yesterday, filled it full of hot tap water, waited 8 hours, filled it whiskey , no leaks so far. Well made product

Got this for my husband to age some tequila. He followed all the instructions for prepping the barrel for use and had absolutely no issues! No leaks! He is loving the flavor and wants another one to try a different alcohol. I looked at a lot of barrels and went with this one. Make sure when you look for a barrel it's actually charred on the inside! Spend the money and get this one!

I got lucky, mine had no leaks whatsoever, I've only had it priming for a day, but there's not even a hint of leaks. You can visually see the tightness of the wood, very well built. I'm gonna let it prime for another day or two and clean it put. Excited to see what comes of it. But I must say, even for the quality of the built, 90 dollars is still a bit steep. Ill try to get 5 liters of clear to age, 5 liters of young bourbon, and I'll make 5 liters of old fashions. After that I'll clean it and treat it real good and age some wine in it for a week or two. We shall see what comes of it. I'll update review accordingly.
