About this item

  • One piece of 1-1/2 Inch Clear PVC Pipe (SCH40, Bluish Tint)
  • Pipe ID is not exactly 1-1/2 inch. Pipe has approx. ID of 1.590 inch and approx. OD of 1.900 inch as specified by PVC SCH40 specs.
  • Works with standard PVC SCH40/SCH80 Fittings & Cement.
  • Pipe is rigid (not very flexible, but may have a slight amount of flex like all PVC pipe.)
  • Max Pressure @ 73F is 170 PSI.

1-1/2 Inch diameter Clear PVC pipe (Schedule 40), Cut to Length.
PVC pipe is measured by the nominal inside-diameter (ID), not the outside-diameter (OD).
Pipe has an approximate ID of 1.590 inch and an approximate OD of 1.900 inch, per PVC Schedule 40 Specifications. As with all extruded pipe, the inside diameter can vary a little. Tolerance for the inside diameter is +/- 2% of the stated diameter.
This pipe is manufactured in strict compliance to ASTM D1785.
Pipe has a bluish tint to prevent yellowing from UV light (as seen in pictures).
For use with standard PVC fittings and PVC cement.
This pipe should be protected from the sun. Extended exposure to ultraviolet light may cause discoloration and the heat may cause warping.
Length Tolerance: 95 15/16 inch to 96 1/2 inch
Please note that there is no product packaging with this product, it is just the pipe itself.
Pipe weight: 7.65 oz. per foot.
Do not use PVC pipe with compressed air or gases as it can cause the pipe to explode and create shrapnel.
Item quantity is 1 piece.
How to cut: If you need to cut the pipe, you should avoid using a ratchet-style PVC cutter, as that will likely break this pipe. Instead, use a saw such as a hacksaw, miter saw or radial arm saw, or one of the pipe cutters that you tighten a little, turn on the pipe, tighten some more and turn on the pipe and repeat until the pipe is cut.
NOTE: Pipe may need to be picked up at your local post office since the USPS sometimes isn't able to deliver long items. If this happens, your post office will leave you a notice for you to pick up the shipment.

Used this clear pipe to view RO Water System waste discharge. Fits perfectly to Schedule 40 white PVC plumbing. Kind of expensive, but worth it.

Options available for commercial pool water level control are poor. Most require exposed pipe over the pool deck with a mechanical float and work like a toilet tank valve. This DIY level controller used clear 1-1/2" PVC to add a level control where high and low levels are set visually inside the vertically mounted pipe. A 12 VDC liquid level control board was purchased on Amazon for less than $10. This controls a 12 VDC relay output to a 12 VDC on/off fill valve and check valve to prevent backflow. 3 mm diameter titanium rods were used as electrodes for the high, low, and neutral circuits to prevent corrosion. The fill valve circuit is only active when the circulating pump is off. Works like a charm.

Used this product for a residential sump pump reconfiguration due to the frequency it runs and the addition of a radon cover obscuring the pit. Tennessee valley was great to work with.

I'm going to use it to make portal guards for my birdhouses. The guards you can buy online are $20 each; this is the same diameter and I can cut 2 pieces out of this length of pipe.

This works perfectly for the exhaust port of my koi pond bead filter allowing visibility of the exhaust water condition while flushing the filter.

I was hoping it was less blue than the picture -- its not. The picture is pretty accurate. If anything, its a slight bit darker. You can still easily see into it, but would be nice if it was clearer. Size is right, dimensions are right, quality seems to match S40. I haven't glued it in -- I used it in a drain line -- so can't comment on that. But in all other respects, it appears to be full S40 clear(blue) pipe.
