It’s a solid metal box with good quality welds. Cannot slide through door with common thief tools of the trade. Where it falls short is the plastic knob to open, inside is plastic as well and came loose after a few openings. Disassembled and found its thin plastic holding the knob assembly which will not hold up well over time.

This is an update of my initial review. The first one I received was clearly damaged, and malfunctioning. With the new one, I was able to program it instantly. Now...trust me, look at the reviews, and look at the video reviews. There's one that is like 6min and some change long. If you want to program it easily, watch that guy's video. You'll know it's the right video if the dude is clearing his throat constantly. Lol. But he is 100% better than the included instructions. The safe works very well. No other fingerprints will open the safe aside from the one finger I programmed. The keys work in case of battery/fingerprint reader failure. I did not want a large safe at all, so the size is perfect for me. I used the pre-drilled holes to mount the safe. Since it being so compact, I was able to convert a cabinet into a spot for this safe. No one would EVER know there is a safe there. Now...this is NOT a Fort Knox safe, so seriously, people...those of you with the stupid negative reviews about the1.) Quality: It's a $60 safe. Get real.2.) Size: If you cant figure out how to see what 0.5 cubic ft. is, go back to school.3.) Yes, if someone steals the whole safe from you, they will get it open.

I love the Safe. Its large enough for important documents. It did not come with instructions so had to look online how to set the code and all other information regarding setup.

Do not buy. Whole point of safe is so everyone cannot have access to it. Fingerprint reader opens for everyone finger even if they did not save their print. I didn’t realize this as I didn’t want to announce that I was buying a safe so I didn’t have anybody else. Try to see if they can open it and one day. I tried it with a different finger and it opened. I was shocked. I had already programmed my fingerprints for my thumb only . Opened w my pinky. I even had my daughter try it, and her print was not programmed in the safe and voilà her fingerprint opened it so I immediately removed the batteries and now use it as a key safe less convenient, but it is now locked down. Tried to get A refund, but it was passed the return policy. I do want to buy a new fingerprint safe, but now I’m weary that the same issue will happen but now I know I will have to check the next Safe I buy immediately

It’s a lock box with a key pad. Not a high security safe. Could be broken into easily.I bolted mine down and it’s concealed.It is not fire proof, it includes a fire proof pouch. If you have a lot of money or valuables to protect, you would need to spend a lot more money. It’s fine for the price.

It was a bit difficult to figure the instructions out but the guy I purchased the item from was very helpful and gave very clear instructions when I asked him for help. Very friendly guy and very timely response.
