About this item

  • Made of Viton (fluorocarbon elastomer) for use with a variety of chemicals and fuels
  • Round cross-section to provide a seal between cylindrical overlapping surfaces
  • Can be used across a wide temperature range from -15 degrees F (-26 degrees C) to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C)
  • Durometer (hardness) of 75A for resistance to penetration
  • Meets standards defined by Aerospace Standard AS568A

This Viton O-ring is black in color, round in shape, has a durometer (hardness) of 75A, and is designed for use in a wide variety of sealing applications.

Viton has excellent heat, fuel, and chemical resistance. Viton is acceptable for temperature applications between -15 degrees F (-26 degrees C) to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). It is compatible for use with non-flammable hydraulic fuels, silicone oil, chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichlorethylene), fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene) and aliphatic hydrocarbons (propane), as well as high vacuum environments, ozone, and weathering. Viton is vulnerable to low molecular organic acids, ammonia gas, alkalis, amines, glycol-based brake fluids, and super-heated steam.

This Viton O-ring has a shore durometer of 75A. Shore durometer is the hardness of a material, and its resistance to permanent indentation. A higher durometer value indicates greater resistance to indentation on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 indicating no indentation.

O-rings commonly provide a pressure and fluid seal between cylindrically shaped, overlapping mating surfaces and are commonly seen in engines, faucets, flanges, valves and various cylinders. They are circular in shape, with a round cross section and a hole in the center, similar to a doughnut. O-rings are available in various sizes, and can be ordered based on required nominal inside diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD), and cross-sectional (CS) diameter.

This Viton O-ring meets standards defined by Aerospace Standard AS568A, which is the Aerospace Size Standard for O-rings.

Surprised to find a fit for such an old piece of farm equipment. Produced in the late thirties/early forties. Just took measurements and chose the modern, better material and O-Ring fits. Time will tell of it's durability but it will surly be better than average.

These orings fit perfectly for your old idi international diesel return line cups. If you get a cup kit, toss out the supplied orings and get these. They're more durable and handle the diesel fuel better with no more leaking.

Picked them up so I can replace my switchback o-ring each time I clean it. It's the right price for 100 of them.

Got these to replace a Fel-Pro O-Ring that began to leak for my 1.6 NA Miata CAS. So far it's doing the job but will give it all of winter to see if it did fix the problem. Good fit.

High stakes pai gou can be a harsh mistress. After betting my company's pay roll on a deceptively bad hand I realized I had nothing left to live for and decided to end it all. So I got my trusty 20 Guage Remington 1100, my last true friend, out of the closet in order for her to usher me out of the mortal coil. Wanting to die where I was happiest I took my dear old friend to my favorite clay stand. I was going to end it all after one final clay. With my trapper blissfully in aware I loaded my 2 shells, one for the clay and one to put an end to my pain. I called pull. The first bird flew from the launcher. I gave it just the right lead, pulled the trigger, then BANG the shot finds its mark and powered the bird in flight. Not too bad for my final clay. I then turned the gun on my self and pulled the trigger; then CLICK, nothing happens. Did my dearest friend abandon me too? It turned out my dear friend was unable to feed her second shell. I hit the latch on the underside and the gun manually feeds."Gun malfunction" called my trapper, still blissfully unaware of my ultimate plan. "I'll give you this pair again" was his next statement.I loaded an other round into the magazine, I figured I could break one more clay before I end it all."Pull" I called, again the first bird flew from the launcher and again, BANG, I powder it with ease. Again I turn the gun on my self and again, CLICK, again she failed to feed."Might need a new o ring" my trapper remarked.Of course I could have easily loaded her manually but something about ending my life without fixing my old friend felt wrong. She deserves better. Luckily Amazon had these O rings in stock and they were eligible for Amazon Prime free 2 day shipping. Not wanting to terry too much longer in this sorrow known as life, I was able to order with one click, and with that I was just 2 days away from eternity. The package arrived earlier than I expected today and the O ring fit faithful ol' Bess like a glove. The package arrived before noon so instead of just one final clay I figured i had time for one final round of clays. I didn't know what I was going to do with the other 9, but getting the 10 off Amazon was still cheaper than ordering one from Remington. With the new O ring snugly in ol'Bess I headed down to clay range to do one final round of 50 before I step off this mortal coil. With the new O ring in place ol'Bess cycled like a champ almost like she was young Bess again. I think this was my so time highest scoring round, ever. Not a bad way to go out indeed.Station 11, this was it, final pair. Two more birds before I step into the cold embrace of death. "PULL", BANG, BANG; both clays shatter into powder. I can now die happy. I loaded my final shell."Hey there, is that a 20 Guage 1100?, I got one of those for my daughter and she loves it"My focus was broken as a gentleman approached me with his small talk.I replied with a pleasantry, and he complimented me on my breaks."That's a mighty fine gun you have and that's some mighty fine shooting, why don't you join me and my daughter for one more round?"I figure why the hell not and accepted. It turned out my new friend is a super friend at the oil company Texxon Moniker and was looking for some one just like me to hire on and to date his daughter. This product not only saved my life but also opened the door to my brighter tomorrow.Thank you no.19 viton Orings I owe you everything.

A few of my MSR fuel bottle O-rings were starting to crack and show signs of failure. I did quite a bit of research to find replacement O-rings. The standard replacement O-rings run from .50- $1.00 and anywhere from $2.00-$10.00 for S&H. I learned from more experienced gear nuts than I, The MSR O-ring is a soft silicone that is not chemical resistant. While the original MSR O-ring held up quite well for me with minimal use over the last 8 years, it could have lasted longer if MSR had used higher quality O-rings.I searched for an O-ring that was made with longevity and direct contact with corrosive liquids in mind. The Viton O-Ring is made for direct contact with chemicals, such as fuel, oil, diesel, kerosene, white gas, unleaded gas, etc.. The AS568A #213 Viton O-Ring matched the actual dimensions of my old MSR 33oz. Fuel Bottle with gray screw on lid.It arrived very quickly in the mail. For the price of one MSR replacement O-ring, I purchased 25 higher quality and hopefully longer lasting O-rings for the same price after S&H. I immediately replaced my old MSR 33oz. Fuel bottle's O-ring with the new O-ring. It fit perfectly as far as I could tell. Granted, the O-ring is measured in hundredths of an inch, if I was off a few, it doesn't show. The cap closed correctly, putting pressure on the O-ring. I snugged the cap up to the O-ring and then tightened another half a turn. I left the fuel bottle full of fuel upside down for a few hours with no sign of leakage. A new model MSR 30oz. fuel bottle arrived in the mail as well. I immediately put a new Viton O-ring on it as well. Time will be the true judge of quality. For the same cost as one MSR replacement O-ring, I have enough O-rings for all my MSR fuel bottles to last the rest of my life. Only a 4 star rating until the O-rings get some age and wear on them.03/02/17 UPDATE: 224 Viton Oring 75A Durometer 1.5" x 1/8" works great for a combat ring when paired with a tailcap ring by Solar Force or SureFire. I bought the 2" OD and it is a little big.
