This is a rugged titanium unit that is thick walled. Will not warp or distort under heat. Keeps its shape. Easily holds other equipment. Water boils quickly because of the conductance. Empty your stored contents on the trail from the kettle and into the handy heavy duty waxed canvas bag while in use. Easy to recoat! I tweaked and tightened the curve radius of the handle so that it would fit between the stove and canvas bag container, allowing me more storage room inside the kettle. I have other Überleben items also including the stainless and titanium Stoker pack stoves, and hexagonal and wood handled ferro rods and strikers. Rugged, take anywhere kits that are lightweight and fit the minimalist hiking genre. Well worth the money spent. Titanium is for life.

So ... I've had this for 2 years now. It has actually made it into my backpacking load-out, because I genuinely like the kettle. The size is perfect, and my preference has become debris stove cooking, which this kettle is perfect for. The last 4 times I've been out, I've taken this kettle with my Firebox Nano or Freestyle, a Trangia, and a Ti 450ml cup. The combo has been great. I like that I can boil up my water, and then pour my rehydratable meal into the kettle. I can keep the kettle warmer longer, and the meals rehydrate better. I also like being able to eat out of it.A couple challenges with this guy.1. No volume markings in it. I'd really like to see them have gradations for oz/ml in it so you can measure out more effectively. This is a big weak spot in my eyes, and easily corrected.2. Not as big as #1, but a minor pain point. The handle. I like the way it is for cooking and boiling. I would like to see them come up with a better way to attach it so it can more easily and securely be attached backwards. This makes eating out of the kettle much easier. As it is, with the handle installed as directed, it blocks easy access to eat from the kettle.Otherwise, I have nothing but praise for this kettle. I even like the waxed canvas case it comes with and have been using it on the trail. I am not an ultralighter, but I do pay attention to my base weight. I find the handful of grams this adds to my base weight is well worth it as a creature comfort on the trail.

Love it. I read some reviews from some earlier models and it looks like Uberleben has figured it all out. The pot, handle and lid are very solid. I was at first concerned the contour of the handle didn’t match the pot for storage. Tried to bend it and soon found out how overbuilt it really was. Not wanting to risk damage to it or myself, I decided to go with it and found it was designed that way for a reason.(No s***) 🤦♂️You can easily hang a loop from the handle and hanging above a fire. It’s also out of the way when stirring. Everything fits in the bag very nicely. The bag is very well-built as well. Looking forward to using this for quit a long time, and passing it along to younger generation down the line.

The titanium version is lighter and boils water a little faster than the stainless steel version. If you just want to use this as a kettle to boil water and you are an ultra-lighter then the titanium version is for you. If you want to cook in it as well, like you would in a pot, you may want to consider getting the stainless version because cooking with titanium is an art because it heats up and cools down fast. What I do is use a very small infra-red thermometer i bought on Amazon to check the heat on the bottom before I add anything to a titanium pot or pan and make sure I use a stove that has a good simmer setting because you don't need to turn up the heat nearly as high with titanium due to titaniums heat transfer properties. This also makes your fuel canisters last a lot longer. What I do is test my recipes at home on the stove and note the temperatures with the infrared thermometer so I can replicate them in the field and travel lighter, not burn food, and pack less fuel canisters.

Great quality … looks really good …. Don’t use over an open fire like I did … wooden lid handle won’t like the heat … but it is perfect to use with gas hiking stove … case is nice too

Lovely kettle to look at and great build quality! The kettle just drips and runs everywhere when pouring!! Very poor design.
