Very happy with my purchase! I have a large in-ground pool, 15x 40, and my friend's pool guy recommended this one. I thought, "I doubt that this will work well on a diamondbrite regular pool since it says for above ground" but he said "trust me" and I'm glad I did. I saved a ton of money and it works great. Yes, you have to adjust the hoses properly to get full coverage, but that is the same with any cleaner. I also had to add weights to my hose so it would go under the hose attached to my in-wall dedicated cleaning port, but that is not the cleaner's fault. My port is about a foot under the surface which creates an obstacle for the cleaner hose to bypass, but with fiddling around with the weights, I figured it out. It also got caught in one corner by the steps, but another minor adjustment and it does not do that anymore. I get full coverage too. Make sure you have enough hose, but not too much length, and make adjustments to the system to get full coverage.Anyone complaining about the above issues most likely does not know how to make these MANDATORY adjustments, or they have a pool design that won't work with any of these types of cleaners.

I never review products much but felt I needed to on this. We just installed a 28' Doughboy, I was very excited to try this automatic pool cleaner. My complaints are as follows: After many hours of being in the pool it missed several spots, it goes over and over the same spots continuously and also the vacuum gets stuck around the skimmer area where it's plugged in due to getting tangled around the hose. I did end up getting in the pool with it and guiding it to the areas that it missed which wasn't too bad but considering it's an automatic I shouldn't even have to do that much. I will say it is quiet and aside from the items I pointed out it did a pretty good job. It also does climb the walls. I've only used it twice so we'll so how it goes from here. I read several people say it stopped working for them after a few hours and mine did the same but I just turned my pump off and restarted it all and it took off again. Something I did learn, I have two returns and both are pointed to make the water go in a circular motion toward the skimmer, I pointed my one return toward the center which did seem to help the vacuum from going in the same direction which was just around the edge of the pool. I think the circular flow was causing it to go around and around versus hitting the center of the pool as well.****UPDATE*** Going on 4 summers with the Zodiac Ranger I've bit the bullet and bought a robot cleaner after borrowing a co-workers. I can't say I would recommend the Zodiac at this point. It loses suction constant. We thought it was due to our sand needing changed. Changed the sand, no different results. Then thought maybe our pool pump wasn't strong enough due to it's age, bought a new pump, still no different results. Plus it always missed the center, got stuck on my ladder and went in the same pattern. A robot cleaner is a lot more expensive but I PROMISE you, after using one you wouldn't think twice about this junk. No more hoses, no more leaving your pump running to vacuum, no more constant watching to see if it's still jumping. Plug the robot into your electrical outlet, drop it in the pool, walk away and come back in 2 hours the cleanest your pool has ever been. The only upside I liked about the Zodiac is it did a great job in cleaning and climbing the walls so I'll keep it for the occasional need for that.

I purchased Ranger after reading several reviews and let me tell ya, this product is great. After opening my pool and to clean the pool for the first time after 5 months, I threw Ranger in my 16x24 oval pool and watched it go. It worked very well and sucked up all debris, leaves etc from the bottom of my pool. I had to clean my pump filter 5 times b/c the Ranger had stopped moving b/c of loss of pressure. I have a 3/4 hp motor and it's just bare enough for the pool and it does not have extra power which has nothing to do with the Ranger. The only drawback I saw was that it does not cover certain areas frequently, it goes around the sides of the pool pretty well. At least during my 4+ hr of work I had to change direction a few times to make it go to certain areas. Overall it did a very good job of cleaning the bottom of the pool and is well worth the price in my opinion. It does not climb the wall but it went through the caved portion of my in-ground liner pool.I would recommend this since it worked well for me and it does not cost a lot.MI

I purchased this to replace the Turbo Turtle by Polaris. I was looking for something that would actually pull the water from the bottom of our 27' above ground pool. The pool is ten years old and we have crevasses in the bottom and I needed something that would have enough power to clean it. The Baracuda did an amazing job! To be completely honest I didn't vacuum my pool at the end of last year and when we took the cover off, it was a mess. I hooked up the newly purchased Baracuda and was absolutely shocked at how well it did. The ease of installation is fantastic. You take out the skimmer basket, insert the Baracuda vacuum part, snap the hose on and start the filter. It takes me about two minutes to put it in the pool and start it. The hose comes in sections that you snap together. It states in the instructions to make sure and not store the hose coiled. This is very important as we stored the other vacuum hose coiled and within a few months it would continually recoil in the pool making the vacuum stay in one place. Because our pool had so much dirt in it, I had to backwash the filter a few times the first time I used the vacuum. I am simply amazed at how well this cleaned our pool, even the crevasses were clean. I would recommend this to anyone. The only exception would be someone who has wrinkles in their liner, it recommends not to use it as it can damage your liner due to the wrinkles.
