Got limited use. It wasn't being opened and closed every day. Maybe once or twice a week.Lock no longer functions and hasn't for quite some time. It lasted about 6 months.It is out of.the elements. It wasn't getting rained on....it's not in direct sunlight. No reason for it to not work as expected...and last for a good, long while.App says the lock needs to be "calibrated". Followed all instructions online, to a tee. No help.Tried multiple times....no help.Contacted Yale customer service.....no help.Box is still in its place and occasionally gets used by delivery personnel...but it doesn't lock and is still subject to theft.Only positive is that it's a slight visual deterrent. People don't try it, because they expect it's locked.But its not trustworthy and YALE has been of ZERO help.They won't even honor the warranty because I bought it through Amazon.I will never buy one again and would recommend everyone stay away from this unit.

We are using it, and usually it works. Occasionally it has not locked after being shut by the delivery person. Someone could carry it off, but I think it isn't likely. The novelty is probably the best part. We feel so smart compared to our neighbors.

When I first purchased this I was dealing with a few issues with and had my doubts but after contacting customer service, working out the kinks, and updating the app it works great for me. I mainly bought for situations of keeping my package safe and dry and I have no complaints on how my box operates. Mailmen/Mailwomen are actually happy I did purchase it because sometimes they can run out of bags to keep your package from getting super wet! Plus unlocking/locking from my app is so much more simpler and I filled the bottom up for weight so good luck trying to lift the box to take it plus having cameras around it makes me feel a lot more at ease. I recommend getting one! Hopefully you have the same results I did if not better.

I bought thus thinking it would be a good way to prevent package theft and having packages left out in the rain. Nope. The delivery people including Amazon ignore it and the box periodically locks itself and refuses to unlock. Right now it's locked and I just spent 45 minutes trying to sign in to the app which won't recognize my password and won't accept a new one. I now have a really expensive, huge, useless plastic box outside my door.

It's been mentioned before that the latch is the weakest part of this. First, the latch LOOKS like you should pull on it. That's a problem because that's the last thing you want to do with it. Because if you pull hard enough on it then it comes away from the lock. And really that's part of the overall problem with this anyway isn't it? The latch should be very sturdy. It's the most important part.Here's what I'd do to make this better:1. Fix the latch. The screws from the lock to the latch should be longer and stronger and really who needs the latch? It is just for fastening the lock. Just have something to screw the lock into. Shouldn't even be removable but part of the box itself.2. Spring on the door. This is a nice to have. If there was a spring on the door then you could remotely unlock the door and that would have it spring open. Sometimes you may have more than one package arriving. First delivery person closed the box and then second is probably going to try to get in the box (and will break the latch).

I was super excited about this Yale Smart Delivery Box with Wi-Fi initially. I get a lot of packages and have only had minimal issues with porch pirates. The times I do stem from haveing issues with drivers leaving packages at the bottom of my driveway. I have complained to all of the delivery services multiple times about this, yet it still happens sometimes. They will leave them down there when it’s pouring rain without a care for the packages often enough that it’s an issue. So my hope for this was that I could leave it at the bottom of the driveway and attach it to my driveway.Unfortunately my excitement was doused when I got it built and realized you need to have something plugged in within 10 feet of this. Not only can I not use it at the bottom of the driveway, but the way my house is designed the only place I could put it is on my back porch. A lot of good that does me when I have trouble getting some drivers to even come up the driveway! So unfortunately this will most likely go to either my parents or one of my four sisters who can use it.All of that being said, if you have somewhere to put this then it should work well. I had no problems installing the app like others seamed to. Mine connected right away when I was testing it out with the box in my garage. The inside isn’t very big, it can only hold a few small boxes or a medium sized box. I definitely wish it were larger. Overall while this unfortunately did not work out for me, I still think that this could work wonderfully for others. 3 stars.

The item arrived at my home in a timely manner, but was missing the main locking unit that makes the product function as it's intended use.
