I bought this for a few purposes. I live in a hurricane prone state and I like to get items to make days without electricity easier. With this, I can store the most important frozen items or refrigerated items that don't do well with ice. I can transport them to a friend with electricity, I can keep using the extra Worx batteries from all my yard tools or I can plug it into my car battery when driving. I also loved that I could bring ice cream and frozen food to my daughter 2 hours away. The food compartment isn't huge but it was more than enough for me. I don't really see needing it for drinks as they do great in cold ice water but it's amazing for other refrigerated items that might get too wet or not stay well enough. I first got the cooler to proper temperature plugged into electric and then moved it to the car. It was nice to realize that I could fill the cooler and have it ready for a road trip a day or more ahead of time. I also worried that it might be too heavy as I have lifting limitations but it is fine. It did great plugged into my car's cigarette compartment. And the large batteries came in handy when my Worx mower batteries died mid-lawn this week! I love swopping batteries and you know I'm not mowing the lawn right after a hurricane so more back up batteries. While pricey, I've already used it and have plans for more this month. I was willing to pay more for the Worx name as they have excellent customer service. But I even bought the monthly Asurion warranty to cover all my Amazon purchases so this is protected too. I highly recommend if you see a need for this and if you have a cigarette charger type outlet handy in your vehicle. Mine has one near the front passenger seat and one in the rear trunk area. What I think I like the best is that it gives you options. If there is a great ice cream or frozen food place an hour away, I can bring it home with no loss of quality.

Before purchasing this cooler and researching others, this one was a bit more expensive but the build quality is great, no issues so far. Very convenient to plug in to 110v 12v via car outlet or run it on the 2 batteries included. The unit cools to temperature as stated within about 15 minutes of turning it on. It charges the installed batteries while in the house simply plugging the cooler in or with the battery charger. It also charges the batteries as you are driving through the included 12v plug adapter. Very satisfied and impressed with this unit so far.

Update: short life:-November 2025: one battery dead & will not charge, refrigerator will not work. Mother board fried with clicking smoking relay.-June 2025: Went CA to NY & back in our EV pick up. This refrigerator plugged into a DC rectifier from the Bed 120VAC receptacle was perfect. Kept drinks cold in the 90° weather. The built in batteries kicked in at every stop to keep refrigerator running.. (F150 Lightning does not power receptacles when truck is off)-May 2025 purchase new.

Worked very well for the long trip. But need to make sure the battery firmly attached once a while during moving, the bad bumpy road condition may force the battery detach.

The Worx Electric and Battery powered cooler is pretty awesome. It is literally like a fridge on wheels. During the summer, we like to fill up an ice chest with drinks and leave it in the backyard so the kids aren't tracking water from the pool throughout the house when making runs to the fridge every 15 minutes. The downside of a traditional cooler is having to run and grab bags of ice to keep the drinks cool. The Worx cooler fixes that and offers so much more. I’ll start with the cons of this fridge as explanation for the four-star rating:Cons• This cooler is being offered for sale at $499. That’s a nice chunk of change for a cooler. The cooler space measures approximately 11” X 11” X 10”. The entire length of the cooler is 24”, with the battery compartment space taking up 8” of the entire length. That’s a whopping 1/3 of the cooler essentially being dead space that you can’t use for drinks. At this price point, I think the manufacturer needs to revisit the usable space for this product, especially considering the cost.• When you are using the battery power for the cooler, and then press the power button on the display to turn the unit off, you’ll need to remove the batteries to turn it on again. This was odd to me. There is a sticker in the battery compartment that states “if the batteries have been left in the battery compartment and the cooler is not turning on, remove the batteries and reinsert them”. By removing the batteries, it sort of resets the “power on” function button on the display panel. It resolves the issue, but why do you even need to do this? I’ve never run into this issue when using a battery powered product.Pros• This cooler defines versatility. The instructions could be better explaining certain features of the cooler, but I was truly amazed with all the features this thing has. You can use this cooler with the two 20V batteries, with an AC Charger, or even plug it into your car cigarette lighter adapter. What this means is you can basically use this thing anywhere you please. This is useful in so many situations, especially when it comes to keeping perishable goods at the proper temperature on those long road trips or trips to the beach. It even has a bottle opener built into the front of the cooler. The best part; no more runs to the store for bags of ice, and no more soggy foods getting buried in water. The cooler also has a built in LED light that engages when the lid is opened. It gives off plenty of light to see the contents of the cooler, especially during low light situations. The cooler is on the heavier side (even when empty), but it is equipped with wheels and a handle to lighten the load.• The LED Digital display is easy to read and make adjustments to the cooler. The temperature range can be adjusted from -4 degrees up to 68 degrees. The display also shows the battery voltage, battery capacity, cooler temperature, and has a USB charging port. When I adjusted the cooler from 78 degrees to 28 degrees, it only took about 5 minutes to get to temperature. I used my surface temperature probe and it measured at exactly 28 degrees.Bottom Line: While there are areas for improvement, overall, this is an excellent cooler that works exactly as described. Highly recommend.
