This works very well on thinner items. But has trouble with the thicker ones. The reason for that is once you snap the blade into place, it pushes the top blade down and it will not return to its more open position. This happens even though the slot it adheres to has plenty of room for it to open wider. This is a real drawback, because it could do so many more things it the blades were able to open fully. Good for smaller, thinner projects only as it is. Too bad.

It’s so hard sometimes to find a gift for someone you’ve been married to for 40 years. My husband does a weekly breakdown of the cardboard that comes into the house and has been having a lot of fun with these cardboard cutters. He loves them!

I really have never left a negative review, and I order a lot of amazon products, but these electric scissors do not cut cardboard well. I have a lot of Amazon boxes and always use a razor knife. I was looking forward to getting the electric scissors. I found out that it's much easier to use a razor knife and much faster. I had to really push the scissors to go through a cardboard box. I don't understand why people are saying that they cut cardboard easily, unless I got a bum pair of scissors, which I don't think I did. Razor knives are much better.

This works well, is slow and very loud but easier for me to use than an exacto knife.
