It’s flimsy and small- worth investing the dollar or two for a quality set!

When I opened the package I laughed... I didn't realize they were "THIS" tiny. They are well made from good materials. They did arrive with a couple spots of bent tines at the corners, but nothing major. FAST delivery.

I don't recommend these for either wool or cotton or maybe even linen but they are great for yarn scraps. They are amazing cat brushes in the mean time and are good for collecting and carding fur directly from animals.

I bought these for my wife to use on raw cotton. While she can comb the cotton with these, and they do a beautiful job, it takes a very long time. However, she decided to brush our youngest dog (shepherd, husky, lab mix) with one because she was being nosy about the brush... and found that it works better on our dogs, all of them including the old put mix, better than any dog brush we've ever bought! So weather she's combing out raw cotton for stuffing bears, or de-shedding our pack of 4 legged friends, these were a win.

These are a quarter the size of real carders (half as wide & half as tall), which also cost $75. You get what you pay for!

These brushes can be used in combination to card wool like an old timey homesteader if you have a need to do that for fiber crafting like making your own yarn. I also find it just REALLY CALMING to make order out of the chaos of raw wool :)The frame is bamboo, with a single hole in the front where the nail holds the handle on. The meat is squishy plastic, just like your average hair brush. The needles are all thin metal, sticking straight up, with the top third bent forward at about 20 degree angle - a few are bent much farther, perhaps due to abuse during shipping, but they should be easy to pinch back up to match the others with a pair of pliers - not with your hands! They're too sturdy for that.Could also use these to brush a very thick-furred dog! Or rake grossness out of an old and flat floor rug. Anything floofy or fiber-y that's pretty tough - don't use this on the average bath towel! - will be a good candidate for this brush to deal with. One star off because there's no care or cleaning instructions - I'd REALLY like to know how to clean these properly if I used them for dog grooming or carpet-revitalization! But, that's a problem with ALL hairbrushes in my experience - nobody knows how to clean the tangled-on-hair correctly, so. Shrug. Not that big a deal I guess.
