I wanted a valet for my husband’s office.The valet arrived and I spent the better part of three hours trying to muscle the screws into the poorly drilled holes. Of course, I lost that battle and now have a wobbly, hardly usable valet: Screws sticking out everywhere, the change of the air causing it to sway side to side.I genuinely, wholeheartedly believe a small child could have built something better with bendy straws and macaroni.And before you ask “did she read the instructions?” Yes, I’m Type A with a masters degree, so you’d think I would be able to decode the instructions of MOST furniture assembly. However, I would suggest drawing your own instructions as the provided instructions are a series of poorly printed photos. I suppose the artistry of the instructions is up to interpretation and your guess is as good as mine regarding which screws fit which holes. I tried every configuration possible before deciding I would give up the fight and seek a better quality valet.The hassle of return at this point? Not worth it to me. I’d pass on this one. You’d be better off (in terms of durability) gluing popsicle sticks together - and if that doesn’t tell you how bad this is? Good luck.

I had previously bought the Eadihege Valet and it was a disaster. Poorly packed, missing parts and poor instructions. After hours of trying to reach someone to help, I had to give up and return it. This valet was the opposite. The packing was careful, all the parts were included (2 bolts were inside other parts so it took a minute to find them) and the instructions made sense. It’s a handsome valet and ready for my husband to use. Also, we did add a felt floor protector above the drawer to ensure it doesn’t pull all the way out. Thanks to the person who posted that suggestion!

It is so difficult to find furnitures not made of melamine, cardboard and such. This valet is made of real wood, looks great and is very useful. I couldn't ask for better.

Bought this for my fiancé who wears suits all the time. Now he can pick outfits for the morning and keep them wrinkle free and everything together. Has a peg on each side for a tie and belt, a bar for slacks, drawer for wallet, keys, tie clip, collar stays, cuff links etc. we did cut and stick a small foam furniture pad inside the top drawer as a stop for the drawer. Sturdy and good quality mirror that tilts. Rack on bottom for a pair of shoes and wheels for easy moving. It looks more expensive than it is. Thinking about getting another for his office!

The best part about this valet is that it’s made of solid wood throughout. There is no composite in any pieces that I could tell. It has a decent finish too, not perfect, but classy enough to fit in with other furniture in the room. The main drawback is that it uses large screws that require a lot of torque with the supplied Allen wrench, and half the screws ended up stripping the wood out. So, I filled in the screw holes with Minwax wood epoxy and while the epoxy was still wet I put in the screws. So, they’re in there permanently. To make the valet even more sturdy, I drilled holes next to the supplied screws and put in some long wood screws, then filled in the exposed (countersunk) screw heads with wood epoxy, lightly sanded the epoxy to be flush with the valet surface, and used a matching stain color to blend in the epoxy with the valet’s reddish stain. So, this valet is very sturdy because of my modifications. Another weakness is that the supplied drawer is designed to completely pull out; there is no stop. So, I drilled a hole underneath the top surface right where the back of the drawer should stop, and I screwed in a short screw that prevents the drawer from coming all the way out. The attached photo shows my clothes staged for the next day. Overall, it’s designed about halfway right and the user has to modify it to make it right, but being solid wood allows that. Not to be cynical, but I never expect wood products that require assembly to be sturdy out of the box anyway. The mirror has good quality glass and pivots nicely. The unit is a little over 4 feet tall, which is perfect for me (I’m 5’10”). I like that I can wheel it around. So, after putting my clothes on it I wheel it to a corner.

We moved house shortly after I purchased this item, so I finally got around to assembling it this week.I have assembled a LOT of self assembly furniture - this stood out as different as soon as I opened the box. It was extremely well packaged. Each part was individually wrapped, thus protecting against dings and scrapes in transit. The hardware again demonstrated the quality - sturdy, fat screws instead of the flimsy kind you usually find in self assembly furniture.Once assembled (which took about 20 minutes with just the enclosed Allan wrench and a Phillips screwdriver) it is very sturdy. The castors roll well and the drawer slides very easily.It’s a well thought out design with space for a jacket, pants, shirt, belt, shoes and pocket contents either on the tray or in the drawer.I’m very impressed and would certainly recommend.

The product is fine but the hanger for the jacket was enormous meaning that any standard size jacket would be ruined by hanging it. I would have sent it back but the postage was £30+ and to return it I would only have been able to claim back £20 less than I spent on total. So we are looking to cut the hanger, taking a section out on both sides to make it a standard size hanger and hope for the best. There was nothing to say that the hanger was for XXXL shoulders!

I ordered this as a gift, and the recipient was very pleased with the ease of assembly, the expensive look of the finish and the utility of the piece.Is there more to say than that? Well, perhaps a few things:--the walnut finish has an expensive looking, semi-matte finish, in a deep, rich walnut.--the one, simple, tool provided for assembly (allen wrench) was adequate, though a phillips head screw driver was also needed to complete the job (we provided this).--the finished piece is sturdy, looks more expensive than it is, and rivals anything else you may find online or in stores (good luck with the store finds!) for quality and utility.As for the "nicely engineered" part of this review, I mean this: each and every part of this valet fits smoothly, easily, and tightly EXACTLY where it should. No struggle, and took a total of 15 minutes to assemble.A great purchase, that lends a "gentleman's quarters" to any room you may place it in.Recommended!
