TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids, which is any salt, metal or mineral in the water.
The lower the TDS level, the purer the water, with 0 ppm being pure H2O.

The calibration procedure is as follows:
In the test solution, press the ON/OFF button to turn it on - press and hold the TEMP button for 3 seconds - the LCD displays the number 1HZ flashes - release the hand, tap the TEMP button to increase the value (tap the HOLD button to decrease the value) -- When the required value is reached; press MODE3 seconds again - the number on the LCD is no longer flashing, let go. The calibration is complete.
