first, this is the C3 lathe basic design thats sold under many names and several small sizes, base 80mm flange spindle ... what differs mainly among them is the level they are prepped and finished off before sale .. for 5-600$ you will get raw machined parts slapped together as quickly as possible ..its an awesome bargain for the financially challenged, but hours and hours of fitting, polishing, adjusting, etc ... what they give you is designed in a way the average guy thats mechanically well seasoned can produce a very nice little machine with basic supplies and tools, and tons of elbow grease .. it will be a project if you want it right .. if that turns you off then get a 3k$ grizzly, same thing, they just did most of the work for you ..

I got this unit delivered back in March and I have been in the hospital and in recovery before it even got here. I am finally able to set the machine up to find out the whole tail stock is missing from the thing. And wouldn't you know its out of warranty now. So can't do what I needed to do and have to buy a new tail stock when it should have came with one!!!! 🤬

**Update from previous post. After finally contacting the manufacturer through their web site, they referred me back to amazon saying that they do not have replacement parts. Amazon agreed to send me a replacement lathe.Item arrived with damage to the shipping crate and control box. It was bent but the lathe seemed to run ok and the controls worked. Appeared to be just cosmetic. Nothing on this machine is adjusted properly. The compound slide has way too much play and needs major adjustment out of the box. Once I had everything adjusted and started using the machine It only lasted about 30 minutes before the motor quit. Burning smell from the motor and control box. Chuck spins freely by hand so nothing is binding to cause motor to overheat. Contacted Amazon for a resolution and was told to return. Problem is the crate that it was delivered in is damaged beyond repair. Amazon customer service said they can not supply a shipping crate and told me to put it in a cardboard box. That simply will not work with a 100 pound piece of heavy equipment like this. I decided to try and contact the manufacturer to get a warranty replacement motor but every message sent to them through Amazon is returned saying "We are sorry to let you know that your email to Mophorn - Amazon Marketplace cannot be delivered because the order it is in regards to is either invalid or not between you and the recipient. We apologize for the inconvenience." Looks like I am out of options and $550. Very disappointed. Do not buy this machine.

A little cleaning and adjusting here and there and this is a pretty decent little lathe for light work. Tons of YT videos on how to improve them out there. I’ve cut everything from plastic to stainless steel with it and it works. Don’t expect machine shop quality but if you’re looking for a hobby level mini metal lathe this fits the bill.

First and foremost, not a single thing on this lathe was tightened properly, and nothing is square or centered when it shows up. If your belt goes bad (it will) they do not sell a replacement. I had to purchase all new gears with a new belt to make one work. You'll spend your first 20 hours with this lathe adjusting, shimming, tightening, etc., only to have things pop back out of square or center the very next time you turn it on. The tailstock is actual garbage, I have to re-center it every single time I use it (or move it at all). The tool holder should be replaced right away, I'd just order a new one in the same order. My first five projects were replacing the crappy plastic parts on the lathe itself, with most of them breaking before I had replacements done. I've had this lathe set up for around 9 months and I just built another replacement part today. In a 2 hour part build, I spend 1:30 fighting the machine, and :30 working on my part. I have made as many parts to fix the lathe as I have turned actual projects.Overall I would have a hard time suggesting to anyone that they should buy this. If you are looking for ANYTHING in the realm of accuracy, spend more money. If you are a hobbyist, you are going to struggle immensely with this machine. All of this said, I have turned a few parts that have turned out pretty well. I am already planning on purchasing another lathe however.

Terrible quality, so frustrated with the low quality crap from China, I realize I took a chance, but no more, probably done with Amazon now. Going to buy more US made and local. Didn’t even bother to try to return it, my bad decision, just going to smash it up and recycle it.

Mophorn did contact me and we did come to an agreement with the problem,As I told them I was very angry when the unit failed after 2 days. The design as it is will lead to more problems if not fixed. I know Mophorn is not the maker and there is not much they can do about it.Thank youDonna

Mine has a broken part so it's weak near the tool holder. Also the tailstock taper does not match the taper on the center, so the don't work right. Chuck alignment was imperfect so a steady rest would be nice. But, for about $700 I can actually turn parts!
