Finally an olive puller with standard coarse NPS threading for undersink polybutylene shutoff valves. Previous ones I ordered had NPT threading and dod not fully screw into plastic compression nut. This one fully screws into 3/4 inch plastic compression nut. This also works for regular metal1/2 compression shutoff valves, but it is a tapered NPT threading which will only grab the first 2 couple of grooves.

This ferrule puller works well. The puller fits two different size pipes. It's ease to use but make sure your supply line doesn't twist. I had my supply line twist off since I wasn't able to see that it was twisting with the puller.

A simple ferrule puller but well made and suitable for the most common ferrules. A good addition to my toolkit.

I really need a plumbing olive remover which works in tight areas. For example, when I repair plumbing under sinks, there is little room to maneuver. So my current Olive Puller (which looks like a gear puller) is difficult to position in the right spot. This Olive Puller seemed like it would be ideal for the job.Out of the box, the workmanship appears excellent. But when I started to use it, severe design problems were revealed.First, the part which is supposed to screw into the valve’s compression nut is threaded with the NPT standard 1/2” inch, 14 threads per inch. But the standard for compression nuts is 13/16 inch, 18 threads per inch. The mismatch is shown in my pictures. This results in the puller being able to screw into the nut for only 1 revolution, and won’t be tight enough to apply force to pull off an olive. The second problem is the ram cannot retract far enough to allow the compression nut to thread onto the puller. Theoretically, this could be fixed by cutting off some of the PVC pipe in front of the olive. But that sacrifices the length of the pipe.I really wanted to like this Olive Puller, because it is well-made. But the design problems are insurmountable, so it is useless !Finally, know that I got this item via Amazon Vine, for review. It was not free. I still have to pay about 30 percent of the list price as income tax. And Vine does not give me the choice to get a refund.

The compression ring puller ( olive puller) worked as I had hoped and was compact enough to fit into the limited space available.

The thread did not fit our pipe and I am including a photo of our large, old and dirty puller (with the pointy tip) next to the new shiny olive puller from this listing. You can see that the thread is different. We can likely force this to work but for now we are throwing it in the junk drawer.
