I used this tufting cloth for my very first mechanical rug tufting attempt, and it was perfect. Having lines to use for alignment during the tufting process was so vital to maintaining my pattern. And the cloth is substantial enough to handle my mistakes (yes - I made several) so I could pull them out and re-tuft the areas. Once everything was tufted, I used the adhesive (this was my first time using an adhesive as well) on the back of the rug to keep everything in place and to create a non-skid surface. It turned out great, and was really pretty simple. I liked this set a lot and would order it again. I absolutely recommend it to any other starters/first timers!

This is a great little set for starting a tufting hobby! I used this to make my first rug and everything worked perfectly. It comes with a large cloth that can be cut down to size and a bottle of glue. As long as the cloth is stretched tightly it works great! Because it was my first project, I learned a few things. My biggest tip other than making sure everything is pulled tight is to tape the edges of the fabric after cutting. Because monk cloth is woven, it can shed on the edges, by taping off the edges there is no fraying and it makes everything much easier. The glue that is included is a standard white school glue. I was able to make 2 smallish rugs with the amount included. All in all a great beginner set!
