When I looked at the product online it appeared to have a lock that could be used. No lock was supplied. Also the item online appeared to be deeper and would cover the tap completely. it did not.I think I can make it work but the stem of the valve is still assessable and anyone with a set of pliers could still use the tape.

I bought these to put over fire sprinkler drain spigots that were left unlocked and available for anyone to turn. They fit as advertised over the spigot and I was able to put a standard lock through the hole to lock out the spigot. It got the job done for what I needed.

For the price, I thought this item would include locks or a locking mechanism. This product serves no purpose without locks. If you want a couple of pieces of plastic for $20.00, then buy a couple of locks, then this product is for you. Otherwise, not worth the price.

This is an indicator as to tell if tank has been tampered with. It won't keep a determined soul from theft but what will.

I had suspected a neighbor had been freeloading my water late at night. I figured the only way to stop it was from my end. Simple but which product to chose? Do I choose to just cover the valve or both the valve and the spigot? This item decided for me.This one is very well made and the plastic is heavy duty. It should do well in the hot summer heat and the mild winters. Definitely will survive the occasional rainy whether. The size, I admit, was not what I planned it to be. It is BIGGER than what I expected. I did read the description but I didn't expect it to be so big! For the valve it was way too big and easily slipped off. However, when it came to covering both the valve and the spigot; this fit perfectly! No more water thief. From the looks of the footprints in my yard, the thief was surprised! I suspect he is looking for other neighbors to steal from. I have to warn them and tell them to get this product!

Pros-* An American-owned company* 100% OSHA compliant* Encircles and locks the valve handle* Chemical-resistant* Built to withstand industrial environments* Compatible with gas valves, water valves, propane valves, and forklift gas valves* Protects against unintentional gate valve opening* Corrosion-resistant* Accepts 1 padlock with up to 0.275-inch shackle diameter* Non-conductive and high-impact polycarbonate thermoplastic body* Integrated “Danger” warning label* Prevents others from tampering with water faucetsCons-Not guaranteed to fit every exact application .This was the perfect solution for my particular application. I tried some of those other handle lockouts (the one that look like a soda can with cutouts for the handle . Didn’t work. Wouldn’t fit down over the handle and head. In the high desert summer heat, it’s good to know it wont melt while being exposed to direct sunlight. Used my own lock which fit perfectly. The gate valve can withstand temperature of -57 to +177℃. (Minus 70 below Celsius up to 350 Fahrenheit ) this info was confirmed directly by the mfg through e-mail. Highest Recommendation.

I have looked for a long time for an outdoor spicket lock. My grandchildren live with me and I am on a spring fed well system. They were always turning the water on and playing in the water. Sooo much fun for a 2.5 ande 3.5 yr old!! The down side was they'd leave the water running creating major mud ponds and worse we would run out of water and have to wait for it to replenish. That means no laundry, no cleaning dishes, bathing or flushing! This device is incredibly simple and super effective. I bought combination locks as oppose to key locks making it easier to access the water instead of going into the house for the key, then returning the key after removing the lock.

This is the perfect solution to my problem. My toddler loves to turn the water on outside and spray anything and everything. Of course toddlers do not listen to "no" so I locked it up! Fits the top of the spigot handle and I added a lock so he can only use the water with permission. I can relax again while he plays outside instead of worrying about being sprayed.
