Tied around beam in rafters and used to load V8 motors in back of pick up. Works great.

This is certainly a colorful bit of kit! The snatch block is painted blue and is rated at two tons. It comes apart easily to insert the tow cable, and a pin to secure the fastener. It is connected to a red shackle, that does not have a rating stamped on it, but it appears to be of the appropriate size for the load. Next in line is a red hammerlock chain coupler, also rated at 2 tons. The gold colored chain is stamped G80, which means it is rated for overhead lifting. Finally, a gold clevis chain hook is on the end of the chain, with a stamped rating of G70. This is a good piece of kit to have on hand because you really don't know what you are going to encounter on a vehicle recovery. The sheave has a grease zerk. This is well-made, and I am pleased to add it to my assortment of recovery tools. If you intend to use this for overhead lifting, please do some more research. While G80 chain is rated for same, a G70 hook is not. And remember, vehicle recovery can be dangerous, read up on safety, and make sure you put dampers on all lines. And never mix standard recovery hardware with kinetic tow-ropes.

I haven't had to use this snatch block and chain yet but it gives me a little peace of mind knowing it's in the back of my 4x4 if I do need it to get me or someone else out of a bad spot. It is very heavy duty as well as just heavy. It has a 4400lbs. working load limit for lifting so you know it's heavy duty. As they say, " It's better to have and not need than to need and not have."

Ordered this (2) Ton Snatch Block with G80 Chain W/Hook - Swivel Shackle - 3" Sheave for 3/8" Inch Wire Rope to use mostly at times when my trenching machine gets stuck in mud as I dig trenches for water, electric, and french drain lines/trenches. Often the ground is wet and where water is standing, there's a good chance of getting my machine stuck in mud. Many times on an embankment and/or around tree's or very close to a house or bldg. When this happens, it has to be pulled out of the mud, recovery to keep digging. This is why I ordered this snatch block w/3" sheave. Many times I need to pull in a different direction to get my machine out and that's where this good tool plays the good part. Now, I can hook this to a tree and place my truck in another position/location and it pulls it right out at a very different angle than where my tuck is located. I'm usually alone when this happens and this tool is a life saver for me.In other words, I can pull in one direction and the snatch block with cable is pulling from tree in another direction as many times I can't get my truck in right position to pull it directly out of trouble. I like the good heavy weight forged steel body and the strong G80 strength chain/hook and a 4,400 LB WWL.Also nice that it swivels to your exact angle needs while pulling. I also like that it's built with a grease fitting to make it operate smooth and will make this nice tool last many years. I keep it handy under my back seat of truck to use at any given moment. The overall quality and build of this snatch block looks great. The sheave rotates smooth, and there is just enough G80 chain to be useable for most average applications. And there is a stamped plate with the safety specifications listed directly on the block. Overall, this is a good price point for a high strength block.

Works great for atvs and is great for the money and is built very strong and easy to use. Looks great. Is kinda heavy.
