Need to preface this review to let everyone know we build custom computers. Every unit for the last 4-5 years has been equipped with a Thermal Grizzly CPU Hold down frame and one of their thermal products. We even bought the frames when they sold for $65 each. I bought 15 of them directly from Germany because no one here had them. Their products are top-notch - EXCEPT! This TG-Remove liquid, which they advertise will remove their Conductonaut Extreme Liquid Metal, is totally useless to do what they say. We had to remove the Liquid Metal that was only 2 weeks old because the client had decided to upgrade the processor before we had finished building his unit. That was the easy part. Put the new processor in, posted the unit, and we were very happy with 31° C temps at idle. Now, we had to remove the Liquid Metal from the processor we removed, and we bought this especially to do so. Amazon only had the two products together.BOTTOM LINE - Don't waste your money. This solution did nothing. We got some 9% industrial isopropyl alcohol and, with a batch of Q-tips, got the liquid metal off with about an hour's work. I would have sworn that someone switched the solution to plain water but it had the smell of Acetone that was supposed to be in it. Also realize that acetone can be gotten as nail polish remover for about $3.00, but that didn't do anything either when I borrowed some from our receptionist.Very disappointed with Thermal Grizzly - they are selling 10mL of simple acetone for $12.97. BTW you can buy a pint in any drugstore for $3-$5. Worse is that their product does not do anything. A total failure for what was a great company. BTW - I didn't use the "shield" part of this listing, so I cannot comment on its quality.
