HOW TO WORK?
★ 1. Wrap free-end clamps 3/8"" or 1/4"" roll band and clip around and clip around boot.
★ 2. Place a 1/2"" ratchet wrench on the winding mandrel and turn. When sufficient tension has been applied, rotate the tool over the boot, bending the band back onto the clip.
★ 3.It applies tension and has a built-in cutter.
★ 4. To complete clamping, fold down the remaining tail of the band into the clip and secure it by tapping down the ears of the clip.

My elderly neighbour had his car mot'd and it failed on the cv boot clip had broken they tried to charge him £225 just to replace this clip saying they had to take driveshaft off car to fill cv joint with grease fit new clip and then re fit the driveshaft to car absolute con men i did it and it cost me £15 for these clips and a tub of grease one very happy neighbour now has car back on road and told garage after they did mot they were conmen wont be welcome back there me thinks quality of these clips are good and plenty long enough for all cv boots although you may be better to cut it down a little

I bought it for a plan of replacing inner tie rods of my 2014 Mazda CX-5 not knowing actual diameter of the original clasps. I assumed the larger ones would suffice but in reality the diameter was much smaller than I had thought. These clasps could be wound to smaller diameter to accommodate the size I needed, but rather winding a lot, I cut the length shorter (about 2.5” off) to make it smaller ring with leas overlaps. They have enough notches to go very small so cutting off the excess length didn’t affect anything. I filed the cut edge smooth so sharp edge wouldn’t rub against the rubber boots. It worked perfectly and better than using plastic zip ties like some of YouTube tutorials mention.

I loved this product, after removing the oem clamps from my stock driveshafts, the tool and clamps this kit came with were perfect, and an easy fit, installation was easy, there are a plethora of videos on YouTube on how to use the tools, and the clamps included dont need the tension tool, just the crimper, and they do the job, and easy to use anywhere in the vehicle. Well worth it!

I purchased these tie straps for my shop. We build off road race trucks. These straps work awesome with holding exhaust wrap on pipes, cv boots, wire looms, and more. I've purchased quite a few packages from Amazon. I recommend these straps especially way better than plastic zip ties.

I purchased this to use to help install new CV boots. My boots came with CV straps that needed the tool where you thread the strap through and use the side crank to tighten it up. That tool works great. The crimp pliers are worthless. You can't even grip the ear of the clamp. Fortunately I had a crimper for PEX pipe connectors are it worked great. The straps they include in the kit require the crimp pliers so you are basically wasting your money unless you have other straps. I would not buy this again.

The kit works but I had to file/grind down the clamp plier part as it was to blunt to do the actual crimping. I noticed the blunt edge was riding up the side of the crimp area on the clamp. Once I put a slight angle on the plier it worked fine.
