I have received many compliments on my mailbox. Besides the post I would recommend having a solid base like a concrete pad or pavers for the plastic base to sit level before going to the next steps of installation. I used a 6x6 post and easily cut the base opening bigger to fit the larger posts. Because there is space inside the plastic base after installing over the post, I had lots of room to install low voltage lighting to the sides and also one on a motion sensor inside the mailbox. I will dig up the grass and add pavers next (will help keep the base from sagging in the back

Goes together easy. I made a base for it with concrete. Seems to be made of a thick quality plastic material - heavy duty. Would buy again.

This mailbox post gives your home a natán t upgrade on curb appeal! It is sturdy, looks great and pretty easy to install. Only thing left to do is see how it stands up to midwest winters and the snowplows.

Assembly could have been simpler if it was shipped partially assembled - but it wasn’t very difficult.Looks great paired with my step 2 town to town xl boxComes with everything you need to mount a standard oversized box to it- Instructions were only photos but simple enough to figure out. You’ll need a hammer, a drill (for pilot holes) a wrench, screwdriver and about 30 mins. Mounts to a 42 inch (above ground) 4x4 at a 2 ft depth.Be forewarned- It’s obnoxiously large. Super out of place in my neighborhood but very nice for a subdivision or more regal home

We needed a large mailbox and I ordered an XL one. When I received it, it was actually much larger than I expected, and a little wooden post under it would just have looked silly (elephant standing on a toothpick comes to mind). So, I found this post that seemed to be a good match and would fit nicely, and it really does! I've had several nice comments about it and it's really the nicest post on the road (it's a country/farm road). I really didn't realize how big it was until I put it together, which was very easy--5 parts. Went the extra mile and put a cement base in and added the street numbers with aluminum plaques (also on Amazon). Very happy with the outcome. It's sturdy (fastened to the 4x4 pole inside) and looks fantastic. I'm calling it the Monolith Mailbox Post because it is so predominant on our country road. Here's hoping it's not taken out by a tractor!

So through no fault of the seller, Amazon sent me a returned product that was missing all the hardware and the metal support bracket. So I am working on returning that.Today we installed my NEW mailbox. Putting it together was relatively easy. The only issues we had were two side screws. Both went in crocked and didn't really do anything to stabilize it. I removed those screws and replaced them with some longer screws and they went in better. The other issue was when we installed the mailbox to the base. It is very difficult to get a socket under the mailbox to tighten it down. We had to try several different things finally we got it tight enough. Over all I love the mailbox. Makes a statement. I was so sick of looking at the old leaning wooden post mailbox. Huge improvement. Price is right for what you get.
