Install was easy, everything fit well, one of the wire clips came broken and they let me return the product and I ordered another right away and I also got one for our second vehicle.

I watched a video on YouTube of someone doing the install. It must have been an outdated video. The instructions were straight forward. It took about an hour to install. If I would have know it was this easy and inexpensive, I would have got this starter sooner!!

I've had this unit for almost a year now, and of course, it's not available to replace. Worked up until about 2 months ago. Using the remote starter, it cranks, but fails to start until I physically put the key in and start. It's like it doesn't activate the fuel pump anymore. Solutions?

Installation facile. Cela a été plus long de bien fixer le module et d'attacher le câblage que de faire le raccordement. La programmation est très clair et bien expliquée. Évidemment si vous avez 0 expérience et habileté en mécanique automobile cela sera plus complexe pour vous.......La seule raison pourquoi je ne donne pas 5 étoiles c'est que j'aurais vraiment apprécié que les lumières extérieur du véhicule s'allume pour indiquer que le moteur est en marche, car si vous êtes dans votre résidence ou au bureau, aucun moyen visuel de le savoir et pas très pratique d'avoir à aller ouvrir une porte ou fenêtre pour essayer d'entendre au loin si le moteur fonctionne ahah....

This is a straight forward module. If you have free time you can do it yourself as a regular person. Beware it will need patience! If you start to connect the harnesses to the module without following the instructions, it will not make the programming smooth. Messing up on one step can be fixed after the other steps are are done well. Both LEDs should be green by the end process. It doesn’t matter how you get the results, as longest you reach the end goal. I messed up step 1 myself, I had to finish the rest then do the second step 1 that involves turning the key through step 3. That helped me correct my mistake then the module gave both green LEDs so I was good to go. Just remember if you don’t have experience in this kind of programming, it might take you a while. So have a good 2hrs ready if want to do it yourself. Securing the module was my biggest issue as I wanted everything to be tidy. Again make sure you have time for this. If not, go to an auto shop with it.

After reading all of the reviews a numerous of times and looking at other similar devices, I decided to give this one a try for my wife's 2014 CRV. I can only speak for that vehicle and say that after carefully reading the instructions and watching the basic video a couple of times, I followed everything step by step and it worked perfectly the first time I programmed it. Definitely give yourself 2 hours to complete the whole job. It took me a little less, but you really want to lay the cables in perfectly and secure them before closing everything up. Be aware that the steering column needs to be able to adjust and you want to make sure nothing is in the way of the adjustment lever. With careful planning and following the instructions exactly, I would definitely recommend this remote starter.

This is the second Start-X remote start system I have purchased within 6 weeks. I would like to say that the Video only shows you the installation NOT the programming of the device. In order to program the device you will need to read the instruction booklet found with the unit.The installation was quick but I hit a little snag with the big bulky connector on the steering column when I put it back together.The connector was preventing the telescopic movement of the wheel to move freely and would sometimes get jammed. I had to remove the collar again and move the bulky connector up closer to the steering wheel.After that it was off the the races. If I would have managed the wires better the first time and read the pamphlet after watching the video I would have been done in 15 minutes. Great product, and easy plug and play setup otherwise.
