This is hose timer #7 for me, so I’ve got plenty to compare to (2 froze, 1 died through no fault of my own, 3 currently running, and now this as a backup). I’ve honestly started feeling like they’re all the same in terms of construction and programming/features. The only differences being how many hose outlets, whether the fitting is plastic or brass, and whether they have WiFi.This is your barebones model - single hose, plastic everything, no WiFi. That said, I think it’s on the cheap end price wise too.It did feel a little more lightweight (i.e. less durable) than the others.One thing that did surprise me is that the battery compartment was a unique style and was super difficult to get open.At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a cheap timer with decent scheduling, it’s fine. If you spend another 5-10 bucks, you’ll get a better build.

This timer is easy to use and having the multiple programming options is nice. The only good thing about the rain delay setting is that you can shut it off. Unless you are watering far away from the timer, as soon as the water comes on, the timer will sense "rain" and shut off. Most hose bibs are under a roof overhang and would not detect rain because the sensor is on the top of the timer which angles into the house (at least at my house). The timer is lightweight and was easy to install. No leaks and no heavy weight pulling on the hose bib. The battery compartment is very deep and was difficult to remove. I have connected several different hoses and sprinklers and each has attached easily to the timer.

I got this unit to replace an older "digital" unit because that older unit was difficult to set up, and every time you turn it off, the settings went away and had to be re-done. This unit is MUCH easier to set up, the settings stay if you turn it off, and it has a rain sensor to stop the timer. In all, a much better hose timer than I had.
