This was my first lens for my Sony 6700 and I used it all the time for photos and video. Clear bright 1.8 ap picture and fast auto focus. That’s all you need. Also it’s light which makes a very easy lens to carry around especially on trips. Buy it.

really enjoying this lens, great for closeup work. I'm not a professional, but I wanted something for my a6400 that was an upgrade from the kit lens. photos turn out great, makes me look like I know what I'm doing!

You cant beat this lens for the price! small, lightweight and sharp! f1.8 does great in the low light and creating that nice bokeh that people love. 10/10

Good value for a prime 1.8. I use for portraits just for my interests. Not best lens but good quality, lightweight, etc.

50mm is such a great lens for a beginner or amateur photographer. F1.8 will do an amazing job. The motor is not that smooth when auto focus is on but again for the price, this should be fine.

It’s been only two months that i have got this lens and used it a couple of times. I am so unhappy with it and I am so disappointed with this product. The photos show a yellowish background, especially when I use the multi shutter. I wish I could return it, but the return window is closed. 😭

For what it is, it's a good lens that fast and sharp. It produces good quality images while being at an affordable price. The biggest issue has to be it's autofocus capabilities. It is slow and the motors are loud. If you want to take images of fast-moving subjects, I would suggest looking at other lenses but if your work is heavily centered on portraits and you're on a budget, you should consider buying this lens.

Everyone needs this lens in their kit. It the cheapest great quality prime lens Sony has ever released in my opinion. Photos always come out looking crisp and clear with that classic bokeh look. The auto focus is fast and accurate. The lens is compact and lightweight. The one drawback is it is a bit noisy when focusing. A small price to pay for the quality of the stills. This may be the niftiest fifty i've ever owned!

its an expensive lens which i dont mind too much even though a 50 1.8 should be much cheaper than this, its sharp enough for what it is however I found the focusing to be painfully slow, Im not one to shoot test charts and do random tests but my a7iii was having trouble keeping focus on a moving subject, which even the kit lens can do so for my style of shooting I had to return

This lens is pretty similar to the Canon 50mm f1.4. It focuses at about the same speed, and it the noise it makes while focusing is similar.Image quality is good enough. It's sharp, contrasty, flare isn't terrible and I haven't had any significant issues with fringing or CA.On an A7 iii it focuses in about 1 second and does surprisingly well in low light. Yes it does make noise when focusing and it seems like it over shoots a bit and then acquires focus. I haven't had any issues with it missing focus.Overall this is a decent lens when you consider the price. It is comparable with similar offerings from Canon.
