This is such a great lap desk to organize & support my work while I’m not sitting at my desk, and does double duty for online streaming at night. Lightweight & keeps my lap cool. PS if you do need to use your keyboard, the wrist support is perfect; so is the mousepad (which slides out on either side when needed).

I can’t tell you how happy I was to get these, I’ve had my old lap desk for so long and I use it all the time. I searched and searched for a new one and I almost purchased several others but I knew there was something better for me, I’m so glad I kept looking. I loveee these I got a black and gray one both are SO sparkly, which i absolutely love, but it’s not too much for my teenage son. These are on the heavier side but I always had to put a pillow under my other one so it kind of evens out.I love everything, it’s very thoughtfully designed, the pull out tray, the light, the light storage, love it! Someone mentioned the battery pack being in the fabric portion, and I kind of thought the same thing but have to imagine the makers tested it and that it’s a flame retardant fabric.As it is it’s a 10/10 for me. However if it had a cup holder up in the left hand corner and the wrist thing was velcroed on and could be removed, it would be an 11/10. I don’t love the wrist thing, as I just got a MacBook air, and was looking forward to being able to utilize the wedge design not hurting my wrist coming from a pro. But with the wrist thing it actually makes it feel awkward because the laptop is so much lower than my wrists now. I think that’s probably fine with a regular laptop. But those little things would make it perfect for me.

I always read the reviews when researching items, usually looking first at 1-star comments to see what problems may not be described in 4 or 5-star comments. The very few 1-star ratings did not deter me, and I'm so glad they didn't because this lap desk is AWESOME! I had foot reconstruction surgery three months ago and was doing very well, but recently injured the surgical foot, needing to return to elevating it constantly, all while committed to working remotely from home. I balanced my laptop on my 45-degree elevated legs while using blankets to provide a more comfortable typing angle, but the laptop kept sliding and it was very tricky. I prefer a corded mouse and by the end of my 8-hour workday my entire arm was stiff from the awkwardness. This lap desk solved those problems, with the added bonus of having the great USB light! The mouse stays on the extendable mouse pad unless I shift drastically very suddenly. I have an old Dave table purchased years ago that pulls up very closely to me while I'm seated comfortably on the couch and I can just lift the lap desk with my laptop in place onto the Dave table and push it out the way when not being used. The padding is extremely comfortable and provides sufficient balance where the lap desk feels sturdy without added weight, especially since I have an old rotator cuff injury. My only slightly negative comment would be regarding the phone slot, but the issue is so negligible to me that it would be unfair to downgrade the rating by even half a star, this lap desk is so great. I use a wallet style cell phone case for my S7 that won't fit in the cell phone slot so I removed my phone from the case, but the slot is very shallow and I was concerned the phone might take a tumble. The slot is open and while my cell was in it briefly I was able to plug in my charging cord through the bottom. I can imagine using this lap desk easily while sitting upright, either on my Dave table or lap. This is undeniably in the top 5% of my favorite Amazon purchases!

This was a gift for my wife, who has developed a preference for working with her laptop on her lap, on the sofa. This led to some stiff necks (from staring down at the computer on her lap), some lap discomfort (those laptops can generate some real heat), inconvenience with keeping the phone handy, and then the problem that there was nothing to write on if she wanted to handwrite a card or note. This multi-tasking lap desk has solved all of those problems to her great satisfaction. The lap desk is comfortable, raises the laptop up a few inches reducing neck strain, isolates the laptop heat, and gives her a solid surface for occasional handwriting tasks. The mousepad slides easily from side to side, so she can place a phone or cup of tea conveniently on either side. The USB light is surprisingly handy, and helps her see better when working during the evening. It took her a couple of weeks to truly appreciate the gift (hey, it was way better than a vacuum ;-), but after some repeated use she now finds it a must-use item. I probably should give it five stars; the only nit that leads me to lower the rating one star is that the desk seems to be designed for a tablet+keyboard combo, so it has a tablet tray which she doesn't use or need. So I might have preferred a version that was for laptops only. Maybe that's a minor point. In sum, it looks attractive, is well-designed and well-made, and is really useful for someone who likes to work in non-traditional places around the house, like a comfy chair or sofa.

I just received my new lap desk a few days ago. My friend had one & I loved hers so much that I ordered one immediately. I just LOVE it. It is so practical & has places for my devices. I love the LED light, the carrying handle & the side mini-desk that slides out either side. I think Sophia & Sam Co. have thought of everything needed in a comfortable lap desk. I have used a much smaller one for many years I purchased from a book store, but this one is so much bigger & better. The other one will still have some use, but I am using this new one constantly. Thanks for a great product!!
