I’ve never had the luxury of using a throw line ideally designed for this purpose. I usually end up using a parachute cord with something heavy tied to the end, but this works so much better. With a little practice, I was able to pinpoint a branch at almost 40 feet. I recommend unreeling the line at first rather than uncoiling it from the end so you can avoid kinks. I got it in the lightest of the weights and it seems heavy enough for hanging our swing and a big holiday decoration from our high tree branch. The quality of this throw line is great and it will be a very useful thing to have on hand.

Man can you sling this thing. And so far it always comes right back down. The rope is super slick and doesn't get hung up. The bag is heavy heavy, yet compact and tough as nails. I used it to set a few ropes over the weekend and despite a really awful first throw was able to hit targets every single subsequent toss. It comes with tons of line, and the carry bag fits it all perfectly to clip to a biner on my gear so it stays at the ready. I will be using this from now on any time I am setting ropes, for tree work, zip lines, top roping sport climbing, even hanging Christmas lights way up in some of the taller trees on property.

This is a really nice throw line kit. The UHMWPE throw line is top notch. For those more familar with high-end outdoor backpacking gear, this is the fiber used in Dyneema composite fabric. Super strong fibers. The weave of the throw line is such that it won't unwind like a traditional twisted rope.The throw weight is small but nice and heavy, and has plenty of stitching to connect the weighted pouch to the D-Ring.The tool bag holds everything together, and is nice as well.I've purchased throw line without the weight or tool bag for more than this kit. Seems like a great value. SOB!

Comes in a durable draw-string bag which holds all the components.Quality of all the materials is excellent.Throw weight is heavy enough to loft into trees through foliage, and the rope is lightweight, strong, and not prone to snagging.Perfect for setting up a long-wire radio antenna.Recommended

Great attention to detail with a well made heavy duty bag and a nice tight well balanced throw weight for great accuracy. The line is just as advertised. Strong, supple, slick and no memory to it. I also appreciate the generous bag capacity. No stuffing or line compression required.The weight is very well balanced, it has an added nylon abrasion protection layer across the face and a few test throws were dead on.An external loop for a clip or carabiner to be able to attach it to a pack would be nice, but I really can't think of anything else I don't like about this kit. Recommended!

I've gotten a few items from SOB the past couple of years and they have all been top quality. This kit is no exception. The weight bag is extremely well made and can double as a blackjack, if you find yourself needing non-lethal self defense. The colors make it stand out in case you set it down in the leaves and such. The line itself is slick and doesn't snag easily. Overall, this is a great arborist kit. Highly recommended.

Some of the best throw line in my setup now. Nice and slick line so you don't get hung up on threads. Nicely woven bag made of good strong ripstop material. Even the carry bag is nice and tough. Plenty of line to get you 100ft into a tree if you can throw that far. I also have a throwline rope management cube that I use to toss the line in. All in all this is a perfect kit for all the tree access stuff you need to get started.
