There were two features that caused me to order the his unit. Certifications and remote monitoring. It's a really nice unit and seems easy enough to operate, but I was looking for something I could monitor sound levels from a distance. Someone had answered that it had that capability so I ordered it. There appears to be a space on the side for a missing feature that it blanked off so maybe they did have it previously.Having received approval to return it I am now considering keeping it. It is a nice unit and with documented testing and calibration capability it is nice, but haven't really used it enough to say much about long term use. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is it doesn't have one feature I was looking for.

We use this for testing SPL of urban sound, as well as other devices for recording. This model actually not professional enough for a comprehensive test (may need 2k$+), but enough for us now. It's simply and easily used, 94dB callibration included.

Worked well for calibrating levels on my receiver. Its made in Taiwan and not China. The quality seems to be okay. So far it has been repeatable but Ive only used it twice.

This decibel meter was working great out of the box. The readings (both dBA and dBC) was less than 1 decibel off from a calibrated and certified ANSI TYPE I meter that I use for work. However, after about 5 days of use, the dBC reading is now about 5 to 6 decibels off (higher) compare to the type I meter. The meter's never been dropped or placed under harsh environment.

The unit works great you are getting what you are paying for, it does have all the functions that you would need like slow/fast and also show max etc.. but one thing that is missing is a backlight if you are planning on using this in a dark environment I would look elsewhere.The other downside for this db meter is the 9V battery which I don't have many laying around, wish it would just use double AA or rechargeable .I use this to show it to my camera which picks it up nicely.

Seems like a good product. Not too many buttons so it's easy to use.Using it to measure noise around our neighborhood and alsoengine/generator noise on boats. But now that I have some data, I'mdiscovering some noises are a lot more objectionable than others withthe same dbA reading.
