The rubber lines are not heat resistant and melt. Installed under a metal fire pit floor to feed into a linear burner above the metal plate floor of the fire-pit. The lines melted from the heat going down from the burner and through the metal floor plate of the fire-pit (so there wasn't even that much heat). Luckily the lines melted themselves shut and stopped the gas flow so I was forced to investigate and found out what happened. Another likely scenario - gas would have kept coming from the hole melted by the heat and the whole thing would have blown up (what the call on the local TV news channel "a gas leak explosion destroys a local home"). I ended up with a $50 gas valve and key which I re-used with metal gas lines instead of the rubber ones that it came with. Notice in photo #2 how the heat also melted the rubber below the brass elbow connector to the linear burner. This product as configured is a major fire hazard if used in a fire-pit.
