I love this book, it was a gift for my boyfriend who just started crocheting. I have been crocheting for 14 years (since I was 7) and the instructions were very clear. My boyfriend had an easy time following the instructions with some help but not much. It has a lot of nice things that you would actually use and would make some one starting out feel very accomplished with the ending product.

It has been well over 20 years since my grandma first taught me how to crochet as a young girl... I fell in love with it immediately and have been wielding yarn in my spare time every since. I've bought many books to use as inspiration over the years... And this one truly tops them all!The instructions are well conveyed, the pictures are simple, gorgeous and quite inspiring. As a photographer, I truly appreciate the extra effort that went into the look of this entire book. I can't wait to make every single thing inside! I've included a few pictures of a couple of the stitching examples that kick off this gem, and several of the most fun and/or useful looking projects. And since Amazon doesn't usually give you a peak inside the pages I've also added a picture of the index, listing each of the 20 projects enclosed.

This was purchased as a gift for my sister-in-law. As far as I know, she loves it. Haven't heard otherwise. (Although she's very nice, and VERY polite, and is not likely to complain about it if I gifted her with it.)Looked nice to me, but I don't know a darn thing about crocheting. Still giving it 5 stars though, for the sister-in-law, since that's how it's sounding so far.

I have crocheted on and off for about three years, but always had difficulty with certain techniques, even pretty basic ones, such as crocheting into the foundation chain. This book has been so helpful! The illustrations are very clear, and the patterns are for the most part minimalist and modern with an emphasis on learning different techniques, while at the same time showcasing the many possibilities of this craft on both a large and small scale. Everything from super-bulky rugs to delicate lace shawls are included here. The photography is gorgeous and that alone got me excited about crochet again! I have already completed one project and am working on another, but have at least two more in my Ravelry queue. Simple Crocheting is a great resource (and eye candy) for both new crocheters and those looking for a refresher.

I fell in love with the table mat on the cover! . Although I didn't like most of the motifs and projects featured, the natural colored yarns used throughout are beautiful. Instructions are clear and include both written and symbol diagrams for all projects. As a beginner crochter this is a good investment. Projects included in the book are for all skill levels from beginner to expert.

First, I borrowed a copy of this book from the library and was immediately captivated by the Slipper Boots, and bought the book for that single pattern!Overall, Simple Crocheting is a comprehensive introduction and guide to learning to crochet. From learning about tools and yarns, to learning the basic stitches, to reading patterns and putting these accumulated skills to use creating well-chosen projects, clearly labeled by skill level, Simple Crocheting is an excellent Workshop text. While this text is great for beginning crocheters, it offers challenging projects for the experienced, as well as providing tips for chores like seaming motifs, and how to work into spaces and in the round. I've been crocheting for three decades and found information I could use to improve some of my techniques.I plan to use this text to teach pre-teens to crochet, to test its efficacy.

We don't all want to spend months on a project. This book gives great options for those who want to crochet but want to see results quickly. Very nice projects.
