My first one flew out of the light socket at about 30mph and never seen again. I ordered another and drilled a small hole in the pole right about the black plastic and now I use a long zip tie to put thru the hole and attach to the nearby cleat. This worked great until .... it cracked the inner housing to the stern light due to vibration. I had to get another stern light socket ($40). I am now looking for a different attachment method for my flag. Still a good product if you only use while driving slow.

This is a great way to hold a flag on a pole installed in the existing all around rear light boat socket. Of course, when you need the light at night, the pole and flag must come down. But who cares. Can’t see the flag at night anyway.

Works as expected, fits into a standard boat light socket, looks good, a nice enough accessory that I bought a 2nd one. Easy to install, and also easy to change the flag if you want a different flag option. This is my 2nd one of these, because my first one went for a swim in the lake. I would advise to remove the flag at speeds over 20 mph. I was traveling about 30-35mph when the flag went flying. The original one did last thru a few boating seasons and the flag held up well, most of my boating is fishing (generally low speed) and pulling kids on tubes (20mph max). I"m not sure they could make the design more secure to fit the light socket, but maybe a leash in case it vibrates out at high speedPrice is low enough that if it does happen to go overboard it's not a huge investment to replace if you want to.

I'm pleasantly surprised. Great quality, sturdy and nice looking product. Fits perfectly in the stern light receiver (collar included) so no flagpole holder needed unless your boat doesn't have a stern light. I like that I can extend it and that I'm able to tighten the flag holders anywhere I like to accommodate a larger flag. You could even go half-mast if you wanted to.

Bought this for our New boat to fly our nations colors on the lake. Just as many of the reviews stated, had to remove one of the screws to make it fit correctly. Spent a week with family on vacation, after first day out flag began to fray on edges. After day 3 had to remove it because it wasn't serviceable and embarrassment. Disposed of it properly. The flag pole is bent at the base as well. BTW boat didn't go over 40mph, would expect it to last.

Edit: Been using the flag so far this summer. While the pole assembly is good, the flag has shown wear quickly. It has already faded to purple and pink and started to frey. Will be replacing flag.Better than what I expected. Solid design and good quality. Haven't used it on the water yet, but very impressed so far. Gotta take a screw out of the bottom to get it to sit in correctly and I chose to keep it at the shortest length and move the flag clips to the bigger diameter pole. Looks great!

from previous reviews I saw that people said that the flag pole fell out. I think maybe they weren't putting it in correctly. ours was shaking and we noticed there was an screw inside the boat holder that we removed and it now stays put. also, the blue in this flag is very pretty!
