For the money, this is leaps and bounds above the wind up style you use with your other hand makes much more comfortable to do a larger yard

I washed it out after using it and later discovered moisture got into the battery compartment ruined it so I called the manufacturer and they replaced it for free. Don't wash it out. It works great and it much smaller to store than a walk behind spreader

Worked reasonably for a couple of minutes then seemed to give up. Replaced batteries, still weak/ineffective. Emptied and cleared multiple times, checked feeder gap settings. Motor is simply weak.Went in the bin. Going back to the manual one.

This Scotts Wizz Spreader is a genuine winner! Like many folks, I've been using a typical hand crank spreader for years. I thought it worked just fine until I purchased this handy device for just $22.49. This is one of those rare products that puts a smile on my face every time I use it.Important features are easily adjustable. The flow rate and spread angle can be quickly adjusted on the fly. The trigger is smooth and fast and even locks -- open or closed. Just before the exit opening is a small impeller that keeps the contents from clumping up... everything flows smoothly. Great feature. The large capacity bin is ideal and the entire device is well balanced and very comfortable to use with virtually no effort. Applying lawn products to my large yard now takes half the time and with more uniform results. This spreader even comes with 4 Duracell AA batteries installed. The convenient usage guide is helpful in applying the correct amount of grass seed, fertilizers, and many common lawn and garden products.Since using the Wizz, my old crank spreader is now retired and ready for the donation box. Scotts Wizz Spreader is a terrific gadget. Check it out for yourself -- you'll be glad you did.

It hasn't failed yet. Doesn't jam up or nothing. Kinda pricey though.UPDATE: Lasted 7 months then stopped working. The battery compartment is leaking some black ooz. Not battery acid. Don't know what it is. Never got it wet. Going to buy another to see if I got a dud. It's weird. 🤨 Drop 1 star.

Bought this to replace a rotary spreader which was past its best. At first, I was a little dubious that the spreader was up to the test but it has worked a treat. Very even spread, easy to control and apply. I would recommend.

Let me tell you about this magical contraption, the Scotts Wizz Spreader. It’s like a rocket launcher for your lawn...except, instead of blowing things up, it spreads grass seed and fertilizer. Trust me, if you’re like me and you’ve spent years trying to keep your lawn from looking like a battle zone, this thing is a game-changer.It holds up to 2,500 sq. ft. of product. So, unless you’re living on a farm (in which case, good luck), this is more than enough to cover your little suburban patch of earth. The best part? You don’t have to worry about dropping seeds like you’re playing some weird game of lawn Jenga. The Wizz Spreader has you covered. It’s easy to hold, easy to use, and pretty much makes you look like a pro, even if you’re just a guy trying not to kill his lawn for the third year in a row.PROS: • Spreads product evenly like a dream, so no weird bald patches on your lawn. Seriously, even my dog appreciates that. • Comfortable grip, so you won’t develop arthritis after 10 minutes of spreading. • It’s quick. It’s like a mini tornado for your yard, but without all the chaos.CONS: • You might start getting compliments on your grass, and suddenly everyone’s asking for lawn care tips. Prepare for your friends to think you’re secretly a horticulturist. No, you don’t need to send them the name of your landscaper. • A bit on the bulky side, so if you’re looking for something to sneak into your neighbor’s yard… well, good luck. All in all, the Scotts Wizz Spreader is a must-have for anyone who wants to stop pretending their lawn is a pet cemetery and start looking like someone who has their life together. I mean, I don’t, but at least my grass does.

At first it was able to spread but with two flaws. The control to automatically spread without squeezing would hold for a few seconds and then slip off slowly until the automatic control button went to the off position. So it was able to spread but for the most part I had to squeeze the controls to have it spread. This might be ok for a very, very small area but if you want to cover your whole property it could hurt your hands squeezing the spreader control for that long.Another issue was that it would spread ok until you got to about the bottom 1/3 of your seed or whatever you are spreading and then either stop spreading cause whatever was inside wasn't moving to the center opening or it would go through and just the balance at once. So I would have to stop and manually rake whatever was dropped to spread farther part or put some of what had what had fallen back to its original container or bag.Within two years this spreader stop working and would not spread the seed. I found that a manual spreader that you turn with your hands slowly, works better. And even better just taking a handful from a bucket and throwing to the ground provided much more of a even spread and more quicker without the above complications and having to refill so quickly. At the "slowest" setting for the spreader it dumps out too much to the ground.

I love the Wizz. Works as advertised, very easy to use and spreads great. Works with lawn chems and fertilizers but also an asset in the winter for spreading Ice melt. It spreads evenly and the dial indicator lets you choose how much material you want to put down. I know others have complained about the electrical wiring and having issues but I have not encountered anything like that. I changed the batteries and inspected the wiring, solder joints and more. I highly recommend this. If batteries are not your gig, having to change them, I would steer you to the Scott’s hand/manual crank spreader. A+
