I bought this product in February 2021. The first time I used the wide tip applicator it worked great. Then, a month later, the second time I tried to use the wide tip side, it was clogged. The screw-top cap had been screwed on tight during the month it was laying in my desk drawer. I took the tip off and soaked it in rubbing alcohol for TWO MONTHS. After that the tip was basically still clogged. If I pressed very hard on the Scotch glue bottle, a tiny amount of glue did seep through the tip, but not enough for what is needed for a simple project such as gluing two pieces of paper together. I left the useless glues stick in my desk drawer, and it's been there ever since.Today I found a solution to the problem with the clogged wide tip side of the glue stick. I had an old, almost empty 30ml bottle of a discontinued paper glue product laying in my desk drawer--the Pentel Roll'n Glue. This Pentel glue stick product used to be available in every office supply store and every university bookstore all across America. It had the best paper glue roller applicator ever! For some mysterious reason it was discontinued in the US some years ago. (A 300ml Refill bottle of the Pentel Roll'n Glue is available on amazon.com from a German third party seller, but the refill bottle doesn't have the ingenious roller applicator which was the best part of this Pentel product.) I believe it is still being sold in European countries and perhaps most of the world.The rubber-treated roller applicator offered clean, no-mess, no-drip use. The design was perfect for all paper gluing needs. It featured a rubberized roller tread applicator that allowed smooth coverage, and if glue dried on the roller applicator between times of use, it was easy to pick off the dried-up glue and fully restore the roller to full functionality.Today I removed the roller cap on the Pentel Roll'n Glue bottle and filled it with glue from the Scotch Clear Glue in the 2-way applicator bottle. It was easy to carefully pour the glue from one to the other bottle. Oddly, the screw-on cap on the Pentel Roll'n Glue bottle screws off clockwise, and on counterclockwise, which is the reverse of how almost all caps universally screw on to bottlenecks--probably worldwide. I'm not sure of the reason for this, but as long as you know that it comes off by turning it clockwise, you're OK.Now, with the Scotch glue in the Pentel Roll'n Glue bottle with its ingenious roller applicator, I can use my Scotch Clear Glue again. I’ve already tried it, and it works great!

I like that this glue provides two choices for application. This feature and the perfect amount of thickness, gives you more control over the amount that you may want to apply, depending on your project. I personally have chosen this to seal all of my Christmas cards as its clear in color, the narrow end makes it easy to apply it neatly and then dries quickly to create a good seal. It also has a good shelf life. What was left in the bottle from the previous year, performed just as well one year later. I've purchased this twice now and will continue to purchase it for future projects.

The product packaging (NOT the outside box) came all bent and crumpled as if it was used, but the glue stick inside the package was fine and worked well. I got it to repair the binding of my leather Bible that was starting to come apart. I fixed it yesterday and it appears to be holding very well. Only time will tell, but I did have a product like this one (maybe even the same one) years ago and it worked well for many purposes until it ran out. I was glad to find it again.
