I liked the look of this product and I thought that the price was very good. I should’ve looked closer. I made an assumption. The ones that I have used previously had a bracket that you could screw into the ceiling joist. And you could do all of your retrofit through the old outlet hole. This one is intended for you to screw screws into the in pieces. This will only work if you have access to new construction or if you have attic access. The picture with the pry bar shows the far end of the bracket with the bend in the pry bar being approximately where the ceiling access hole was located. There’s no way that I would install this in my current home. I bought this when we bought the home and then we left for a couple of montsh and I have missed the return window. I’ll chalk that up to Experience. Otherwise, this appears to be very well-made and would be a good ceiling fan bracket as long as you understand the limitations of how it can be used.
