Got tired of buying $300 kreepy's over the last 20 years. The last kreepy was less that 2 years old, repaired several times, and finally gave up the ghost. Figured I would try what looks like a knock-off. This appears to be made with better materials, and so far so good (2 months). Quieter, does not get stuck like the kreepy did, and half the price. Will give an update.

This product worked fine the 2 months, after having a pool service guy come and check everything else, this product stopped suctioning all debris, it’s now all sitting at the bottom of the pool and I checked and cleared my pool skimmer still no collection of debris.

It is super good, does not get stuck on the pools steps as the more expensive one did, the only problem it has, the small piece at the very sucking point, is held bt a very small screw, and is comes off easy after a while, and there is no part numbers for the whole components

I have tested 4 different automatic vacuums.2 were this style and 2 were $400+ 'wheeled' versions. This style out-performs the more expensive versions by far. This works great and seldom gets stuck. While it does pick up leaves and small sticks, it will get stuck if there are long sticks or large bunches of leaves. If this is the case, take some time to use a pool rake. The key to this device is checking up on it.Check it periodically. The common issues are:- Something stuck in it- It is stuck on something (ie, ladder)- Water flow is too weak. This could be because: - The Pump basket is too full, - Your filter needs backwashed, - You need to adjust the main and the vacuum intakes or install a regulator ( I have a 1.5hp pump, so I have to keep my main drain valve mostly closed (but not all the way) in order to get enough pressure for this vacuum to work, while making sure a clog doesn't cause my pump to burn out.)How often you use your pool will affect how often you need to use this vacuum. If you wait until you see dirt build up, you will get frustrated watching it go around the dirty spots and re-cleaning the clean area. In this case, take the time to use a manual vacuum. However, if you use your pool regularly, and are looking for automated upkeep, you can use this a couple of hours every few days.I have also added a filter canister to the hose to prevent the pump filter from getting clogged.

Ease of setup and use 5 starEfficient cleaning and Suction power 5 starWe previously have had 2 pentair kreepy kraulys and purchased replacement parts to keep them going. 2018 summer found this pool cleaner, we used it all pool season. Opened up our pool (2019) recently and it still works great. We have a separate vac line in the pool that it connects directly to. Have no issues with low suction. If you do then adjust your valves on equipment deck. We have it in our pool 24/7. If you are having issues with it getting stuck then change the direction of the pool jets. This thing goes up the walls and all over the floor just as good if not better than the kreepy krauly. Our pool is bigger than the average pool for a home so we purchased additional sections of tubing. 40k gal pool and the vac runs 24/7 during pool season and has done a great job of keeping our pool clean. This item is less than 1/2 price of the pentair Kk and completely satisfied.

I've been using a Kreepy Krauly for decades, at least 3, but decided to replace my aging sweep with this generic version, based on the reviews I read claiming it works as well as the original. Well, either I got one that isn't up to par, or you folks have been smoking something! Yes, it works, I give it that, but it isn't anywhere close to being as efficient as the real thing! It runs far slower under the same suction. As many of you know, the original KK comes with a cover plate that goes in a skimmer above the the skimmer basket. The plate holds the KK regulator that works kind of like the one that comes with this unit in that it lets water bypass the suction hose to maintain an even and proper operating suction. The difference is the regulator that comes with this one eliminates any possibility of using the basket to catch floating debris. When it does let water bypass the hose, any floating debris would then be sucked into the pump strainer, something much more difficult to clean. So I used the existing KK setup. Unfortunately, the KK regulator never opens as it used to, and the skimmer is now completely ineffective because it takes all the suction to get this unit to move along at a reasonable pace and actually pick up dirt. So now I'm not getting any skimming done, and I have typically had to empty my skimmer basket once a week! Considering that, and how much longer you're going to have to run your pool equipment to get the same cleaning, and the electricity you'll end up paying for, my advice is buy the real thing! It won't take long to recoup the extra cost in savings in power! If, on the other hand, you don't have a problem with any kind of floating debris in your pool, and your skimmer basket never needs emptying (yeah, right!), then this is the unit for you!
