Works great AFTER you have to disassemble your installation and unstick the outlet end of the membrane.Picture the membrane being like long duck's bill...pinched together at one end and open at the other end. Water enters through the open end and forces the "lips" of the bill open. Well, in my case, the pinched end (lips) was rather seized together from the construction process.I had to disassemble my fully installed trap, stick the handle of a crescent wrench into it, and force the stuck lips open. After re-assembly, the trap works flawlessly. Sorry, no pics or videos

Purchased to replace one in our RV. Out of the box, it has a cheap feel compared to the one already in the RV. But, I tried to install it and found the threads on both ends were so messed up, I couldn't attach the connections. Tried for 30-mins and the threads just wouidn't align. So, it's all going back.

for context, i live in a Skoolie (bus built into a RV @thatguyshem on YouTube) Used this in a different way than most. i used this as a way to close the smell from a grey water tank. worked perfectly until the weather became cold where the membrane on the inside would freeze and not allow water to pass causing a backup. otherwise a great item!

First thing I noticed was mine came with the membrane still partially sealed so it did not drain properly. I had to reach a small dowel rod in there to rip it open. I thought that would be the last of it and it worked okay for a few weeks. After a few weeks of full-time living in my skoolie I looked under the sink one day to find water leaking down. The plastic screw on piece that tightens it to the sink drain had completely broken at the seam and the whole thing came loose from the drain. This thing is as cheaply made as they come, don't buy it unless you want to be let down and have your time and money wasted.

The threads for the extension tube are poorly designed. Due to this design defect the valve and Tube don't fit well. Unable to fully tighten connection causing some leakage. Additionally the valve was stuck not allowing the sink to drain. I had to undo the assembly to open the valve which caused my RV to get wet.

I read several bad reviews for this product, but it worked great for me. The valve inside my old one quit working due to age. This is a one to one replacement and was just simply a matter of unscrewing the old one and putting this one in its place and hand tightening it.
