There is nothing bad about the switch itself. I used it on a snowblower to control lights. But the wiring diagram in the pictures is incorrect and just plain bad. Middle position is hot, silver is switched hot, and the gold is to ground if you want to illuminate the switch. Use a DMM to confirm.

This is a very nice switch. Fully waterproof for those that are using them on their boats or out in a wet area.Well made of plastic with an escutcheon to make installation easier and stronger. You can just cut a whole and secure the escutcheon then pop the switch into that. Fits well and looks great. The switch has a rubber boot to hold back water. There are 3 terminals with two being the switch itself and the third as a ground to illuminate the indicator lamp when on. Or, reverse the positive with the load and the switch will stay on at all times making it easy to see in the dark. There are 3 wires that you connect to the switch and wiring to and from the switch, but, this switch is a 20 amp rated switch and these wires are too small a gauge to handle anything even close to the rated 20 amps. So if you are running a very small load they will work fine but if not, they are useless. Operation is as expected.Bottom line here is this switch is more than worth the selling price and I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
