With scissors you're limited to cutting sheets of material, such as paper, fabric and thin plastic. The Multi-Cut has a mechanical action of a blade coming down onto a flat anvil. This design combined with a razor sharp blade & an offset pivot point gives you incredible cutting ability for cutting thick & rigid materials that have density.

Used it to cut (warmed) PVC handrail cover. Blade did not flex. Cuts were square.Expensive, but good quality.

We use these to cut vinyl/pvc trim around garage doors. They are strong and make good clean cuts.

Very good cutters. I see in some reviews people are using them on things they shouldn't. They need to be used on rubber hoses and lines and rubber seals and trim work. I bought them to cut body side molding for a pickup (hard rubber) they worked fantastic.

These were easy to use and sharp. We used it to cut through rubber trim for a truck and it was like cutting through butter.

I use these to cut rubber and plastic. They are sturdy enough to hold up for daily on the job use. They make cutting thick material much easier.

I looked a lot for something to professionally trim body molding; this seems like that is exactly what these were made for. My 24 yr old Chevy truck has body molding that needs replacement. Being so old they only make the molding in big rolls so each piece needs to be cut to fit; some pieces are at an angle and some are a straight cut. Tin snips would work but aren’t long enuff for a molding that’s 2 1/2 inches wide. I needed something strong enuff and long enuff to do it in one smooth action. These are just perfect, and they make a nice professional finish; not jagged or looking like it was cut with a utility knife or shears just laying around that leave a ‘make-do’ appearance. Once the job is done I’m sure I’ll find other stuff to use with these.
